Excellent old fashioned soda and delicious milkshakes. Friendly staff and welcoming atmosphere. Steps away from our hotel.

The only remaining original business on Beale Street, which sells a range of tourist memorabilia, American candy & hoodoo items. There is a cute vintage cafe located inside, serving hot drinks, a huge range of (customisable) sodas & shakes, gelato & delicious pimento grilled cheese sandwiches.

Visited Memphis from Australia in August 2014. You should definitely go into Schwab's and have a look around. Staff were friendly and the milkshakes at the old time diner in there were A1. Check out the giant pair of denim overalls hanging on the wall just in from the main entrance !!! Awesome.

Love this place because it has held onto it's roots and sells merchandise that you can't find elsewhere. They have souvenirs, of course, but so much more in the way of clothing, hats, candies, whatever you would want to find in an old time General Store!

This is an "old" general store. There are many interesting products to see and buy, such as old-fashioned candies, toys, and clothing items. The selection also includes items such as hand-made soap and interesting canned food items (in jars). Definitely worth a visit. It is free to go in and browse, and many items and souvenirs are inexpensive. Plan to spend 1/2 hour to an hour there. Quite fun.
