The Mallory-Neely House is an Italianate Villa Style Mansion located on Millionaire's Row in Memphis, Tennessee, right next to the well-known and well-reviewed Woodruff-Fontaine House. The Mallory-Neely House was built in 1852 and was used as a family home until 1969. It has 25 rooms and is a treat for the hour it takes to tour the home.
It was recently re-roofed and reopened to the public in November, 2012, better than ever! It has most of the original furnishings, which makes it truly unique and immeasurably valuable as a Memphis Antiquity! The tour through this home is a jaw-dropping and fascinating glimpse into Victorian times as you feast your eyes upon their obvious flaunting of their wealth. The home is gorgeous and the tour guide very knowledgeable. They will tell you not only about the history of the home and the families that inhabited it, but of the culture and customs of the times.
Be sure to visit this home and the adjacent Woodruff-Fontaine home when you are in Memphis. They are located not far from downtown Memphis, they are only open certain days each week, but they are worth the trip!
