“Italian Nirvana”
Reviewed September 24, 2012

Look past the exterior into a wonderful setting with a great menu. Our service was solid. Highly recommend for a special dinner or for a family get together.

“Intimate gem in Mid Town.”
Reviewed August 19, 2012

Bari is in the Mid Town area of Memphis and is more of a special spot for dinner. They have a menu that cannot be altered but they do a great job. There is a small bar that always seems to be filled.

What is really nice is their hours which are open on Sunday and Monday nights. Many restaurants in Memphis take those days off which can be a problem if you are hosting people from out of town for business. It is Italian Cuisine and they offer fresh bread. Specials seem to be interesting but we always order the same vegetarian option. The wine list is unusual and the desserts seem good but we are usually not hungry for them. The salads are usually our focus along with the other appetizers. It is the white linen napkin, candle atmosphere but not too expensive. We have been there a few times and look forward to going back.

“Expensive but Authentic Food”
Reviewed July 23, 2012

Hubby and I have eaten here twice for full meals. Hubby was pleased with the wine offerings. The food was well prepared and although the menu had only moderate numbers of items per food group, each dish was excellently prepared. This is not Italian food that is cranked out in large proportions for the masses--it has more thought put behind it. Amounts were generous enough and one did not leave hungry! The dining area is small and the lighting is dim. The decor is simple with exposed brick for some of the walls. Service was attentive but not overbearing. Parking is found in adjacent business parking lots or on side streets. The separate bar that precedes the seating area is also small but popular. We would return again in the future. Not the most expensive but not cheap----good for date night!

“Wine and cheese kinda bar”
Reviewed July 3, 2012

Went here on a crowded night so opted for wine and a cheese plate at the 'bar' section rather than a full Italian meal. Not bad, though it's an older crowd and there isn't much privacy - if you care.

“my favorite”
Reviewed July 2, 2012

A Memphis gem! a small, (about 15 tables) seating area and a good sized bar with 2 more tables.....but Bari has the bes of the best - thought they are small plates, the food is always top notch - fresh fish, cheese choices (over 100) to die for, homemade pastas, great wine selection.....the servers are knowledgeable -
I have never been disappointed -
