If you take Elvis out of Memphis, you could be forgiven for thinking that that would be the end of Memphis but not so. Memphis is to music what stonehenge is to civilisation. All music starts at Memphis from the music of the workers in the fields, the Gospel songs from the churches. The rock, the soul, the blues etc. The Stax studio recorded so many big artist that it was definetly worthy of the description of museum. This is an important place in the history of the development of the music industry we have today and well done to all those that invested in the refurbishment of the building and the work to bring the Stax back to life

STAX RECORDS produced some of the best American Soul and Rock and Roll music from the 50s and 60s. This is a must see.

I found this a little disappointing but my husband absolutely loved it - a lot of the names I didn't know so I was a little bored at times. Lots of music history information and memorabilia.
