“Very educational...”
Reviewed August 13, 2013

Am so very glad I went to see this place. The initial 20 minute movie presentation was great in that it helped set the stage for what you would see and hear in the museum. I did enjoy the Rock and Soul Museum in downtown better though as it had more history and different music venues like Sun records, blues and even Elvis. But this place was pretty darn essential for music lovers.

Great to hear about Stax direct from the museum - Hayes 24 carat gold plated caddilac is worth seeing (with the shag pile carpet and everything)

“Another essential visit on any Memphis trip”
Reviewed August 12, 2013

Memphis is the home of music to me and this is an essential place to visit to have some understanding of how music has evolved and the people who played such an integral role.
Like Sun Records, Stax has played a major role in music and it is difficult to imagine music today without these influences.

“A must visit”
Reviewed August 6, 2013

What an incredible place, so glad we stopped in. It is not only interesting but very educational. It seems back in the day this place was a musicians dream, too bad it all came to an end. Some of the greatest musicians in the world started here. A great place to visit.
