The opening video was great. My wife liked the tour. I think there needs to be better directions when you exit the freeway. The best part in my opinion was Isaac Hayes car. If you take this tour you should surly go to the Fourway Resturant, you will not be disappointed

A very nice insight in the Soul Music is given here. The area in which this museum is located is a bit shabby, but the museum is very worthwile visiting.

My husband and I were on a music road trip (Memphis, Clarksdale, New Orleans, St. Louis). This was the best music-oriented site we visited. Because we are both 62, we were fans of many of the artists who recorded with STAX. The museum is laid out beautifully and focuses not only on the music and performers but also the studio and what it took to run the business. You get a strong sense of history, in particular the Civil Rights and Black Pride movements. We got there near closing but a young man volunteered to take us through and point out the highlights which was wonderful. Could have spent at least a couple of hours there.

The Stax museum is close to downtown, Beale St., Sun Studio, and the Rock and Soul Museum. NOT in the best neighborhood, but not much of Memphis is. There was so much great memorabilia to look at like Booker T's stage outfit, Isaac Hayes car, Otis Reddings clothes. Some of the exhibits need a little updating as some of the R&B stars have passed away and it's not listed.

We loved this museum. I did not realize the impact of this studio on, and the caliber of musicians that recorded here. I've been listening to the Stax cd I bought since our visit!
