This is interesting and a must see, lots of unique exhibits. Small picture show and the many phases of the soul and rock era.

I am not big fan of soul music, but this museum was very interesting and had great displays/videos/interviews.

First of all, when I came to Memphis, I hadn't realized that soul music was rooted so strongly in Memphis' history. Then I went to this museum and read and heard the artists that had recorded their albums here: some names you will definitely know by heart, other songs you will immediately recognize as soon as you hear them. The tour started with a short movie which I found informative, and furthermore, the museum have the studio equipment that was used in those days on display.
I would definitely recommend this one if you like (any kind of) music. Great fun!

My first, and thus far, only visit to a museum solely dedicated to the history of soul music. Great history lesson on the Stax catalog and artists as well as those from other music labels. Eye catching exhibits, especially Isaac Hayes' 24K gold plated Caddy, and enough music to keep you singing and dancing from one attraction to the next. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!
