There are many fine hotels in the downtown ares to stay in. Comfort Inn on Front, Residence Inn
The Westin . We have stayed in all of these and more..but most of the time we are drawn back to the Madison. The rooms are all kept in good conditions and the ease of check in simple(ask for Kellie if she is on duty .She is great) The real shining stars to me are the personnel. If you park with the hotel ask for Billy. He is the main man on valet parking and bag handling. A true professional . This was my third stay this year and I know that I will be back at least 2 times more before the end of the year. The bar is small but adequate with good appetizers and the bartenders know their business. Ask for Ashley she makes a great cosmo.
I should point out that I live in the area and could stay anywhere so I am a native. I am also an extensive traveler and this hotel rivals many 4 Seasons and Ritz's Carlton's I have visited.
The restaurant grii83 is excellent too. Above all go to the penthouse level and enjoy the rooftop bar. It is the coolest rooftop down town. Try the breakfast ..off the hook..
Enjoy your stay . You will be back.

We really enjoyed this hotel! It had a very helpful staff, beautiful decor, and many upscale amenities. The location is great: in the heart of downtown Memphis. The rooftop terrace offered great views of the river and city, and had great cocktails. This will definitely be our go-to hotel in Memphis in the future!!

Visited family at Rhodes College for the weekend and made the reservation through Hotwire, which have us a great rate. I'm convinced every employee is required to look you in the eye, smile and greet you warmly. The lap pool was super chlorinated and the valet took 25 minutes consistently to retrieve our car, but those were our only complaints. Quiet room with an incredible bed. Loved Madison!

We loved this hotel. The decor was really stylish and our room was first class. The staff were very friendly and upgraded us to a King room on arrival without any request from us. One of the nicest hotels we have stayed in. Views from the roof terrace were great. We had only one meal in the hotel - breakfast on the 1st day. This was fine but nothing memorable.

Room was lovely but no drawers to unpack, had small baskets in the small closet. We enjoyed the sunset from the sky bar, but late night it becomes a disco. Great for the hip younger crowd. Excellent breakfast food. Staff very polite and helpful. There is no self ice service, but they will bring a small bag of ice at your request. Great location. Parking is expensive, but just a block away we found a hotel lot with parking for $5 a day.

Staff is great. Bellman Jim was great. The room was average. Nice but not worth over $200. City view is Misleading marketing. Alley and brick wall is more accurate. If Beale street is your destination try the Peabody. Food at restaurant was good and sky bar was cool.

Stayed in a Jr. Suite with 2 adults and 2 kids and we were very comfortable. Staff is incredibly friendly and responsive, and they were really sweet and welcoming to the kids. Location is great - easy walk to many restaurants and attractions and the trolley is just around the corner for farther hikes (e.g., Civil Rights Museum).
