Reviewed June 22, 2013

This is a beautiful small hotel in downtown Memphis. Friendly staff is very welcoming. Outdoor rooftop bar is just incredible to watch the sunset over the Mississippi. The room was very clean and spacious. Will definitely be back next time in Memphis.

We got a really good deal on this hotel and upon arrival we were upgraded to a junior suite as it was my husbands 40th birthday! After a few nights in motels this hotel was pure luxury! I really have nothing bad to say about it, very close to the centre, fabulous rooftop bar with stunning sunsets over the mississippi, friendly staff. I would recommend and would look to return here if i ever stayed in Memphis again! Awesome City!!!

Room Tip: there is a parking garage 2 blocks from the hotel called parking can be fun, much cheaper than the v...

Stayed there for a night while driving home. Had a great time. Hotel is beautiful and comfortable! Great location. Spent time with family. Ate dinner at the hotel, which was wonderful. The chef was very friendly and even came to ask how dinner was. Hotel had a party on rooftop later at night. Fun jazz band and appetizers, drinks were okay. Beautiful view of the river from roof. Had a great time! Would go back!

The hotel was lovely. We had a partial view of the Mississippi. Service was good.
My only complaint was when we went to the roof top deck/bar. My friend and I were both dressed in dresses and flats. My friend's sandals happened to look like flip flops but were leather and had small decorations on them. Twice we were stopped and inspected. No where did I see the dress code until I searched for it before this review. Even if they had been beach flip flops, we were better dressed than the two men I saw in jeans, t-shirts and white jogging shoes. It kind of left us with a sour taste. The waitresses who served us were very attentive.

The hotel has a cool and current vibe and we expereinced great service. The rooftop bar was stunning. On the weekdays it opens late afternoon, but hotel guests are permitted to enjoy all day. On weekends, it opens early morning. The late night energy was like a high end club and the daytime energy was relaxed and casual. Fantastic views over the river and city!

We stayed three nights and for the most were happy with our stay. The staff are incredibly friendly and helpful and the rooms are spacious and well decorated. The rooftop bar had just opened and there were some opening week hiccups. However, once these are ironed out, I am sure this will be the best bar in Memphis with it's magical views of the Mississippi river.

The hotel food was good (both room service and restaurant) however the breakfast service was very "Faulty Towers". Services was slow and there seemed to be a lack of communication between the kitchen and waiting staff. Nothing that good staff training couldn't fix.

Overall, an enjoyable place to stay in Memphis.

My huisband and I stayed at the Madison on a weekend Break. Although we arrived way to early for check in because our room was ready we got in immediately - a bonus as it let us unpack before we went exploring. Our room was clean and toiletries were of a good quality. The hotel is beautifully decorated and spotless throughout, its also in a great location. Staff were friendly and helpful, restaurant was very good and the views from the rooftop bar was wonderful.

We had problems with our air conditioning the first night which the maintenance staff could not fix so we were moved to an upgraded room for our last night- BRILLIANT CUSTOMER SERVICE.

Would recommend this hotel
