“Very good hotel”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 22, 2006

Very clean and comfortable hotel with friendly staff. Great location just off Beale Street. The rooms are large, quiet and comfortable. Excellent for business travel as they have free internet in rooms and lobby. Large bath and good closet space. Comfortable chair with ottoman in room. Good breakfast in lobby. Security is good as you need room keycard to access elevator. Doesn't quite have the service level of the Peabody, e.g. no valet parking or luggage assistance, but the price is far less. Convenient self parking for $12.

If you're going to Memphis and want a hotel in the heart of the city, this is a good choice. It's a short walk to everything downtown. Peabody Place is across the street, for shopping. Beale Street is right outside your door for nightlife and dining. The rooms were nice and clean. You do get a little noise from the bands on Beale Street, but I didn't have any trouble sleeping. The hotel staff was friendly and helpful. The complementary breakfast buffet was very good. They also had a free business center where you could check your email etc. A lot of other places will charge you. If you stay downtown and would like to see Graceland, I suggest you take the Sun Studios shuttle. We rented a car and drove, but if we would have known about the shuttle I would have chose that option.

I was never unsure about this hotel. Had read mostly good reviews on this site. The hotel is in a great location! Easy to walk everywhere-trolley stops within easy access too. Our party of 4 (all women) stayed in one room and we never felt cramped for space. The room was quite spacious and, although we had thought about upgrading to a suite, we did not and are now glad that we didn't. There was adequate seating in the room, lots of light and plenty of storage. The bed linens were a sort of pilot program-with a specific type of sheets etc. The beds were very comfortable, clean and had wonderfully soft sheets. The comforter was very heavy and luxurious. Our room had a view of the corner-we could see Peabody Place and the intersecting street-we had a large picture window and could people watch while in the room. There was some noise from the music from Handy Park (around the corner) but after midnite, everything was pretty quite on our side. The complimentary breakfast was so much better than any of us expected. Hot and cold items. Absolutely no need to eat elsewhere. The only complaint concerning the whole hotel is that seating is not adequate for a weekend crowd for breakfast. I should explain that there is a very spacious lobby and there is plenty of seating-just not with tables for eating. The lobby is gorgeous too. We liked the fact that you had to use your room key for all doors into the lobby (except for the main door) and to use the elevator. We felt quite safe here.
We rented a car and used the attached parking deck for parking. We did not pay a fee-although there was a notation that parking was $12.00 per day. This was not listed on our checkout bill anywhere.
Would we stay here again? Absolutely!!! The staff at this hotel was very nice and was organized enough that they had preprinted directions to all the attractions that were handed out as you asked for them. Cleanliness and security are priorities here too.

Just returned from a great partying weekend (10/28-10/30). Hotel is in a great location- like the previous reviewer stated- just a short stumbling distance from Beale!
The rooms were great -Great bed, big bathroom, great view of Peabody Place. The hotel has a free hot breakfast. The front desk employees were great- very nice and helpful. Pool and hot tub are open 24 hrs.
Trolly is only 2 blocks up (we took it to Mudd Island) and the Peabody Hotel is a block over ( to see the ducks).
Had a great time on Beale St. On Friday nights you can buy a wristband for $10 that gets you into all the bars and clubs (except for Alfreds) If you like a dance party check out Club 152 on Saturday nights, they have 3 floors of different music.
Had some great BBQ @ Rum Boogie and Pig With An Attitude. BB King has great fried pickles. There is a great little Philly sandwich shop down from the hotel that is open until 3am. Dennys is only 2 blocks over- for that late night/early morning been drinking all night, need to eat before you go to bed fix.
Will defintely go back. Feel free to email me with any questions

Having lived in memphis in the early 90's it is amazing the transformation that has happened downtown. The location of this hotel is perfect. If you are looking to party late night on Beale Street this place is a must stay b/c it is in walking (or stumbling) distance of all the bars, arena and ballpark. Hotel is very clean and the breakfast in the morning is very nice. Yes, there are some noise issues, but what do you expect when you back up to the Beale Street. Corky's BBQ is in the hotel, which I think is better and much quicker than the more famous Rendezveous (which has a better atmosphere).

The hotel is pricey, but you are paying for convenience, which I think makes it worth while.

My friends and I were there October 2004 to attend King Biscuit. We stayed at Hampton Inn and Suites and could have not asked for a better hotel. The suite was beautiful, the balcony wonderful, clean, cheerful, with wonderful views. All of the staff were great, free breakfast super, suite was clean and
large enough for us. Worth the price, we are returning there October 7, 2005, and looking forward to another fantastic stay at Hampton Inn by Beale. Would highly recommend to anyone
