“Fun introduction to Memphis”
Reviewed April 26, 2013

This tour gives a nice overview of Memphis and lots of information about the city and its music. It should be done first part of your trip. It is an OLD tour bus so don't expect anything fancy and no bathrooms. They give out tambourines and shakers as the guide does sing a lot of songs illustrating the music of Memphis. The volume was a little loud for us old folks but we had a great time. If you are real serious you may feel uncomfortable shaking tambourines and singing along but being a little silly and laughing made it lots of fun for our group of 4. The gentleman at the ticket booth as also very informative and helpful in recommending restaurant's and bars with music we might like.

“Great tour of Memphis music”
Reviewed April 22, 2013 via mobile

Second time on the tour and every bit as good as the first. Kathryn Brawley was excellent and entertaining as a tour guide. This is a unique and enjoyable way to learn about the importance of music to Memphis.

“A Fun Way to See Memphis”
Reviewed April 9, 2013

We booked the Big Mojo Music Tour based on reviews on TA. Having never been to Memphis, we thought it would be an excellent way to see some of the sites and learn about the city, and we were right! Our guide, Shaquina (sp?), a student enrolled in a local college majoring in songwriting, proved to be a wonderful singer, entertainer, and storyteller. We loved that she made us feel like she actually knew so many of the people that she talked about on the tour. The tour was fun with Shaquina singing, the guests providing the rhythm section, and the dialogue interesting. Our tour included a trip to Sun Studios, which was great too. The whole concept may seem a bit hokey, but it was a blast!
