Excellent meal! I had the 5 course tasting menu and turned myself over to the discretion of our server. The first course was creole barbeque shrimp (savory, buttery, garlic laced shrimp). The shrimp were beautifully cooked, tender and flavorful. The second course was my favorite of the night - boudain sausage with a wonderful, rich creamy horseradish sauce. This was followed by a perfectly seared scallop in a light vermouth laced broth and a basil pasta. The main course was a beautiful crisp and tender veal schnitzel on a bed of truffle potatoes. The meal ended with a strawberry buckwheat cake that was not my favorite part of the meal and a scoop of buttermilk ice cream that was just wonderful.

Chef Kelly English is Memphis' best and for a reason. The experience you will have is second to none. I recently experieced their five-course degustation option and I must say I whole-heartedly recommend this option everytime. If you are like me and can't always make easy choices from a menu that has so many delectable options then this choice is for you. Just tell the staff what multiple dishes you are most interested in (your likes and dislikes, preferances in preparation, dietary needs, etc.) and they will customise your pefect menu and unlike other restaurants that have multi-course menu options, at those other restaurants the Chef chooses what you will be served and usually the whole table is required to participate. At Iris you can be in complete control and each person at your table can have their own customised menu or you can still leave it up to the Chef to surprise you. Either way you will have the experience of culinary perfection.

Dining at Iris is extraordinary - the food is masterful, the setting is casually elegant, and the service is just right (not too much, not too little) - there are lots of very very good restaurants in Memphis but Iris is by far the very best

This is the best in Memphis. It just is. Had a business dinner last night and enjoyed every boldly flavored bite. If you enjoy flavor and high quality ingredients, this is your spot. Last night, I had at least a bite of the BBQ shrimp special, Lobster Knuckle Sandwich, Strip Steak, Redfish "St. Charles" a perfectly made Basil Hayden's Old Fashioned and took home the butternut squash/pecan pie dessert (will devour tonight). Not a bad bite. A beautiful balance of flavors and everything cooked just right. Great atmosphere, delightful staff and always nice to see Chef Kelly English check on his patrons during their meal. Easily my favorite in Memphis and right up there with favorite anywhere (Herbsaint in NOLA might have something to say about that). A must!

We celebrated our anniversary with another couple. The food was very good. Kelly came by the table and visited. Would definitely return.
