The menus change here, and right now, May 2014, they have a great Middle Eastern theme going. The lamb chop is delicious, as is the hummus and baba ganoush. Portions are decent, except for the bread served with the latter two. You only get about 1/2 of a pita sliced for them, and even if you take the server's recommendation and pay an EXTRA $2, you still only get another 1/2 of a pita. For sharing these as a table appetizer, this is absurd. Next door at the Beauty Shop, also a Karen Carrier business, you have to pay extra to get bread with your soup or entree! Then it comes cold. Small detail perhaps but still it leaves a bad taste in one's mouth to pay so much for their food and be nickled and dimed for ordinary bread. I am surprised that you don't have to pay extra for your hamburger bun, which is a good sandwich by the way.

Recently we had dinner on a Thursday night at Bar DKDC. Take note: this is no longer a sushi bar as they've gone American Bistro now. This is wonderful food- inventive, delicious, reasonably priced. Fried Brussel Sprouts? Fabulous! Housemade Onion Rings with a tasty dip? You absolutely must order them! Housemade Pommes Frites? Delicious! We also tried small plate Barbecued Shrimp and the chili served over a split open bag of Fritos. Both were good but could not compare with the HubCap Hamburger. So juicy, so tasty, so many great toppings to choose from. Move over Hugheys, this little hamburger is coming to knock you off the Best Hamburger pedestal! The interior is Bohemian Chic Funky Chicken and so much fun. The menu changes often but they'd better keep the hamburger on the menu!

Pretty cool little sushi joint with some creative rolls, including odd ingredients for rolls such as bacon and duck. A lot of their rolls included (walu) or escolar, a tastey white fish. I had a roll with seared scallops on top, and another with strawberries and walu on top, both were pretty tasty. They have another menu with soba noodle dishes and other non-sushi japanese foods. Small place, only seats about 40 or so, friendly staff of artsy fartsy trendy types. Good sushi quality, although nothing to write home about. I was the only person in the whole place since I got there right when they open at five, so the service was great. I heard they get pretty busy on weekend nights though. All in all, great place to stop in and eat at least once. I thought the only downfall was that it was a little dirty inside, I looked up above the sushi bar and noticed dust a half an inch thick covering the fixtures and cables across the ceiling. Wouldnt want a clump of dust falling on my sushi roll.

This restaurant was featured in Northwest Airlines in flight mageazine in March 2009. I read the article the week before my trip to Memphis and planned to eat there. Coincidentally, I was sent there by a propritor of a store in the area for a great meal. Two wonderful suggestions and so I headed there. On a rainy Memphis lunch hour, the soup was perfect. Who expects Matzoh ball soup in a quasi sushi bar eclectic little spot. There is soemthing for everyone. Best of all the owner of the place and the wonderful restauarant next door was delighteful and welcoming wehen I asked to meet her. She is well known restauranteur in Memphis who has had much success with other spots in town. It is in a fun area of memphis that is a bot off the beaten track of Beale Street and a chance to see the wonderful neighborhood showcased in a district one might miss. I encourage everyone to check this out and have a great ,eal!
