“Not one of the good ones”
Reviewed November 18, 2012

Stayed here in October. The setup is older but handy for a walk to Beale Street. Rooms are tired. It was cold, I asked for a duvet or blanket and was given a dirty holed bedspread. Pool area was good and parking good. Breakfast was virtually non existant but included. The lack of brochures or information in the office reflected a lack of interest in pleasing guests. Free WiFi but no laundry. The reception area was scruffy and rooms tired but appeared clean.Only a 10 minute walk to the action of Beale street.

Room Tip: Ground floor

I needed to go to Memphis on business with my wife.  I wanted to stay somewhere she would be safe and be able to walk around.  I read the reviews on the Vista Inn and was concerned that it would not do.  I am glad I went with my better judgment and booked the room.   We checked in and she inspected the room.  She was very impressed with the cleanliness, the comfort of the bed she even wants to buy the pillows.  We walked to Beale St every night and felt very safe.  She walked to the Peabody without incident.  We stayed two extra nights.  If you need anything just ask Jessica, she was very helpful.  If you need to be in this area this is the place to stay.

Ok the location is good but thats it! Really noisy, a lot of creepy guys hanging out and the price we payed for the rooms was not at all worth it! The WiFi didnt work! Really dirty sheets and towels, full of stains and hair=( They didn´t clean our room and we stayed for 4 days!! Really rude manager and staff...stay somewhere else!!

Stayed at this hotel for this my fourth trip to Memphis because we had a dog with us, and the other downtown hotels that allowed pets were way too pricey. Read the reviews and was a little hesitant, but have to say - was happily surprised. Clean, nice and close location to Beale Street (closer than when we used to stay at the Holiday Select!).

I have to say it's an interesting motel layout, two separate buildings and some warehouse type building by and between it, with fencing and barbed wire. Parking lot was gated to go out to the street to get to downtown, but they open it up in the later afternoon, which makes for a shorter walk to Beale. People at the hotel were great and friendly and helpful. I see that people may mention the "neighborhood" but it's really fine, and is across the street for the baseball stadium there, and just a few minute walk to Beale which is what we wanted. Free parking to drive to other parts of Memphis. Pet friendly -although no great green areas for pottying the dog, but made due fine with our border collie.

I'd go back -- even without a dog. good price, close, and comfortable!

It was about five-ten minutes walk from Beale Street, but the neighbourhood wasn't the best. Rooms were tidy, beds all right, and that's about it.

Breakfast was the standard muffins/coffee fare, staff were friendly, but compared to other hotels in cities we stayed in on this trip, it did seem a bit pricy.

All in all, an okay place to stay, particularly if you're going out on/near Beale Street.

Very close to downtown, walking distance to the horse drawn carriages parked in front of the Peabody. Two double beds in the room, pretty cramped with a desk, refrigerator, microwave and dresser w/flat screen tv but for the convenience & location it was fine for one night. Didn't use the pool, but was a little leary that it went from 3ft to 10ft. Stay in a room towards the back of the property, a lot less street noise. $74.95 for one night for 3 people turned into $93.13 after all the taxes. If you split the $93.13 between 2 people who pay, they charge each person an extra $3 for the "trouble". Continental breakfast by 830 on a Thursday morning had 2 small muffins, no juice & 200 degree coffee. Nobody even at the desk to ask if they were putting out more.

Let me start by saying that this motel is in avery good location quite close to Beale Street. I am not sure how safe it is at night, but that was not a concern for me. Still, I would never stay at this place again. The rooms were small and felt cramped with 2 full size beds. I stayed 2 nights and both mornings we ran out of hot water in the shower. The night clerk tried to be a little helpful, but did not seem to have any power. The day clerk was extremely unprofessional and because of that I would never stay at this place again

Room Tip: not sure that there are any, but I would try for one in the rear
