“SMOKE!”
Reviewed August 13, 2013

Loved Beale Steet, music, sights, etc. That smoking is allowed in the bars is too much. I will say that they have installed some good fans, blowers, etc. But given the fact that one can go in and out of the bars seems to me that they could keep it outside. Cigars are the worse!
It is really not a place for animals (I have a dog) or young children (been there and done that).

“Outstanding”
Reviewed August 12, 2013 via mobile

For a short walk, of only a few blocks, it has so much culture and history. Lots of Blues, Elvis singers, food, historical markers and a sense that things have not changed there. You can walk down the street with a drink and there are street performers to keep you occupied. For me, it was the old architecture, music and historical markers which made me realize how much had changed and how much as happened on 1 street. A must see!

“Fun, great music & lots of security!”
Reviewed August 11, 2013

Historical. A must-do if you are in Memphis. Restaurants, bars & souvenir shops within walking distance of many hotels. Handy Park has live free music every night. A. Schwab is the only remaining original department store on Beale street and they have a free museum which is interesting. The BB King's Blues Club & Mr. Handy's Blues Hall Juke Joint are here. Security is everywhere, I felt safe.

“Very fun way to spend an evening”
Reviewed August 10, 2013

A must visit for those looking for happening night life. Lots of live entertainment. There are lots of establishments where you can walk in and out of, have a drink, listen to the music act. It stays open until 3 AM. We had a great time. There are people who bring their kids, but after 9 pm, it really isn't a kid appropriate atmosphere. Lots of fun and we would definitely go back.

“Cold Beer, Friendly People and Great Music”
Reviewed August 7, 2013

I took my 80 year old Dad to Beale Street and we had a bar hopping blast! Wherever we went, the food was great and the people were friendly.
