Owner description: Renovation and renewal have come to this historic street known as the "Home of the Blues." Flashy music clubs and restaurants abound.

It is crowded but fun if you enjoy music and can drift in and out of the venues. Buy a ticket (band) at the top of the street which covers all the cover charges in each place.

This was an unscheduled stop and boy I'm glad we made it, Beale Street was wonderful, so full of Blues history and so much to see and hear!

We had lunch at the Hard Rock cafe, where there was heaps of Elvis memorabilia, along with many other stars.

Walking down the street was really comfortable, I didn't feel unsafe at all and although there were quite a few beggars due to the massive 45% unemployment, they were the most polite and respectful people I have met.

The busker band was phenomenal! The singer had a great gravelly blues voice and he was also quite funny, I could have sat and listened all day!

Just a short walk to see the mighty Mississippi and there were trams running down main st.

Beale street is possibly a better experience on a hot evening, but even on a very cold and rainy Sunday morning, this place has atmosphere. We enjoyed walking the street and looking at the signs. Eating options was also interesting, although we did not have time for lunch.

We were there on a Friday and Saturday afternoon&evening, and it was supercrowded and superfizzy! Lots of bars, shops, people who had fun (and sometimes got really drunk:)), music from everywhere, funny horse carriages, street performers, etc...I loved it. It is short, but has a great atmosphere!

Good "blues" music pours out into the street and you can feel the beat of good old rocknroll. Several great options for places to sit with a drink and listen to the bands, room to dance and people are friendly. I was suprised it was clean and we felt very safe. We did leave around 11 pm so it may become more rowdy.
