We thought it was a con, that the duck walk at the Peabody Hotel, would be some metal ducks or something, riged to go accross the windows or something, but it is not so. There are 5 real ducks in the hotel, at 11 am each day, they come out of the lift walked along the red carpet and went into the fountain in the lobby, they then aparently stay there until 5pm, then they walk back along the carpet and goin the lift and back up to their roof top room. It was odd and great to watch, they are not in distrss they appear to love it, and the announce informed us that they are swiched out evey 90 days for humain reasons. And just as a side note; there is no duck on their menue..... The gift shop has some really cool stuff, not cheap but nice, i probably would have bought something, but we where being pushed on by the tour guide.

Rooms are going through renovations and have nice updates to them with new comfy beds. The size of the bathroom was very small with not much space, which is very common with historic hotels..When I was there they were still working on the 4 and 5th level floors for renovations.

There was some construction noise on the weekdays during business hours due to the room renovations. Also since they have summer rooftop parties on Thursdays nights, there was a lot of late night noise.

I was impressed with conference food and breakfast buffet but room service wasn't great and my order got delayed. Staff was great and focused on customer service. I can not speak to the room prices, as I was at a business conference and did not pay for the room. There is also an additional required hotel fee that includes wifi.

Lots of history, character and style at the Peabody Hotel. I have been there several times before years ago but this was my first visit there in a long time. Time didn't change the beauty and class that greet you when you walk in the door. The building itself has features that are historical and I felt a calmness just sitting on the second floor overlooking the lobby. A beautiful square piano is on display, and the description says it was made for Francis Scott Key. I felt fortunate to step into the Peabody and hear the talented piano player and see the beauty.

You must get there early! For the 11 oclock march i would get there around 10:15 to get your pick of spots. I would recommend getting a balcony spot. The ducks move really really fast so unless you can see them actually entering the fountain you wont see much.
