“A must see in Memphis”
Reviewed June 12, 2013

A really fun thing to watch. The duck master starts with rolling out the red carpet and taking the lift out of service in readiness for the ducks at about 10.45 he then tells you about the tradition of the ducks and a little of the history of the ducks he disappears to the lift and when he reappears the music is playing and the ducks march to the fountain climb the steps and start to swim round . It was a really fun thing and highly recommended - Kids would love this.

“something free and unusal to see for all the family”
Reviewed June 12, 2013

This is a real treat to see you will want to at least go a half hour before the time so you can have a great seat. It is called the marching of the ducks they do this everyday at 11:00 am and 5:00 pm on the dot. 365 days a year. The peabody hotel is a beautiful hotel and take great pride in their ducks. These 5 wonderful ducks live in a palace on the sun roof of the hotel. They have a duck handler as well. This story started many years ago as a joke and has turned into a wonderful tradition. The duck handler will first roll out the red carpet and tell of this story and how it all began. The child get to sit on both sides of the red carpet while the rest of us find a chair to sit in or stand along the rope or stand looking from the second floor. No one will get to stand up or stand in front of you which I just love and they do stick to these rules so everyone can see the ducks they take pride in. We were lucky to get a chair next to the fountain and at 5:00 pm we went on the second floor to watch from above which was nice too. After telling the story the duck handler will go on the elevator and go to the sun roof to the palace and get the ducks. As they march off the elevator onto the red carpet into the water fountain where they will stay until 5:00 pm and make their march back to the palace. They also let you go to the palace on the roof to see where these lovely ducks are taken with such great care. You will not find duck on the menu in the restaurant anywhere. What a great site to see and it's free!

“don't duck out”
Reviewed June 1, 2013

We went for the 'famous' duck parade at 11 am in the foyer area, where the fountain is. It pays to be there for about 10.15 am to get a seat near the front. There is a very nice Deli inside, for a snack and coffee to keep you going. The parade is hosted by the resident Duck Master, who gives an insight to the hotel history. A fun morning.

“Fun duck walk”
Reviewed May 28, 2013

We joined the crowds to watch the ducks walk to the fountain! It was difficult to hear the Duck Master's entire spiel, but we learned a lot from it. We got some terrific video of the elevator's descent, the doors opening, and the ducks walk to the fountain!

“Too touristic”
Reviewed May 26, 2013

It was cool to see the ducks there, but it takes a long time for a very basic show. The guy at the mic just keep talking and talking. And talking. The hotel gets a little crowd to watch this, in my opinion, I would go just if it were not that crowd.
