I woudl compare it to the Mark Twain house in Hartford, CT for being filled with original artifacts that reflect the customs of the times. The house is lovingly cared for and a real gem.

I LOVE this place. I've gone 5+ times and take visiting realtives and friends to check it out. From the legends of the hauntings of Molly Fontaine to the beautiful architecture it's one of few Victorian relics this city has. (Check out Molly Fontaine's Lounge bar across the street!!)

One of the few Victorian houses in Memphis still open to the public. Wonderful interior and a lot of history behind these walls. Don't miss that if you're in Memphis.

We visited on the spur of the moment as we were too early to book into our B and B
We arrived just in time for the last tour and were shown round by a lovely lady called Rosemary
She was very knowledgeable and took time to listen to and answer our questions
I especially enjoyed seeing how all the original clothes are stored and loved the purple wedding dress which was on display
It's is a beautiful house, well worth a visit

our daughter-in-law loves old houses and wanted us to visit this section of memphis she'd long been wanting to see. there are several victorians on the block but this one is the only one currently open to the public, for a small fee. the restoration is complete and furnished with pieces which may have been from the same era as the house; the original furnishings are mostly long-gone, just a few pieces were original to the house. the docent/guide was well versed in the house's and the owners' history which made it seem you could visualize ongoing activity in the house's heyday. free-parking around the back, street parking has meters
