We spend 3 nights last week. We got a nice deal using Priceline's express deals. I've stayed at many upscale hotels in the U.S. and the Peabody is a great value considering the location, history, and the many amenities that it provides to the guests. I think management is doing a great job!!! Our check-in was flawless and every employee we we met was friendly and professional. Our room we knew was going to be small but was very nicely furnished and the beds were great. There was someone staying next door but the walls must be well insulated because we could barely here them. I can't remember the last time where I didn't hear other people while we were trying to sleep! Yes the bathroom was small but everything worked great. We didn't eat at the restaurant because we wanted to eat out, but we did have breakfast muffins at the deli. The short blond gal working there was always there to help us and seemed to make sure the free breakfast coffee was always available. I would say the ONLY issue we had was the pool. The pool is a bit cool and the pool room is a bit cool. Wife commented that she can't remember a time when the pool room was so cool that she needed to use the towel to warm up! Overall, a great hotel. Stay here if your budget allows. Try Priceline to get the best deal.

Came to Memphis on business, had deluxe double room shared with daughter. Room large, bathroom MINUSCULE! Floor hadn't been vacuumed, never was during our stay. One day room wasn't cleaned. Service so-so. Dry cleaning terrible, couldn't get simple mocha stains out of coat, but charged $15 for cleaning. Ducks cute, but really. Bar nice enough, valet guys very nice. Expresso machines broke two days in a row in coffee shop. Thank goodness had a business room rate, not the usual exorbitant rate charged. This "old grey mare ain't what it used to be many long years ago." Will try another hotel on next visit!

1st the tip: both viewings equally busy. Once you select a place to sit and the formal "event" starts you won't be able to creep up to get a better view - they have staff to help everyone keep out of the way. They are kind and professional but they will keep everything in an orderly fashion. Suggest maybe the mezzanine level or if you are up for it stand by the ropes that lead from the elevator to the fountain. Obviously the best are the tables that are right on the path between the elevator & Fountain. Extra tip: the Duck Master will stand for photos with you after everything is done. He's generous with his time. Extra extra tip: the Duck Master comes back about 5 mins after he takes away the stairs the ducks use. He comes back with a grand silver platter & feeds the ducks. When I was there no one was around to see or photograph that (11am duck arrival). People line up way before 10:30am.

Now the hotel: I was impressed that with the age of the hotel and how busy it is that it is as updated as it is. It's clean and elegant. I always notice the hallways up in the guest rooms for carpet wear and paint etc and this was excellent. All the staff I encountered were professional and friendly. The room was had was a normal size room (not a suite) and everything worked. The bathroom was a bit small but well furnished. The only thing I found missing was the usual coffee/ tea "accoutrements". Free wifi everywhere. A safe in our room. Free shoe shine!

Room Tip: The hotel doesn't really have a view that is worth paying more for from what I can see from being out & about.

This is a Beautiful Hotel that gives you that 'step back into time' feeling the moment you walk in. Everyone was very kind and helpful. The men dressed in the red jackets just speaks class! We tried to see the ducks, but the lobby area was extremely crowded and we could not view them. Would like to go back sometime and maybe get a good seat for the 'duck walk'...I believe you need to show up 'early' for the best seating and viewing...otherwise you are trying to look over heads and shoulders. The bedroom was decorated beautiful, very clean, lovely decor and the bed slept wonderful. We had a great experience on this first visit and would like to go back again.

Room Tip: We met up with other couples and some did not receive a larger size room. I would suggest to ask the front desk upon check-in if you could receive a larger room with the larger bathroom. Some couples had a smaller bath area than others...so it may just be a hit or miss type thing...but it doesn't hurt to ask if something is available.

We stayed for 3 nights in room 1046. Absolutely perfect! The room was large with an extra seating area, desk, roomy luxurious bathroom and comfy bed.

Watching the march of the ducks is something that should be seen. Quite entertaining.

The lobby bar is the best place to stop before heading up to bed at night. After a long day visiting the sites we would stop for a nightcap. There is a great selection of desserts and lots of people watching if you want.

Great location in Memphis

Room Tip: If you can upgrade to a larger room it will be worth it.
