Owner description: Sun Studio - The place where an 18 year old Elvis Presley recorded his first song. It’s well-known in the music industry as "The Birthplace of Rock 'N' Roll" and the most famous recording studio in the world. Opened by rock pioneer Sam Phillips in 1950, this national Historic Landmark is where superstar musicians like Elvis Presley, Jerry Lee Lewis, B.B. King, Howlin' Wolf, Johnny Cash, Roy Orbison and countless others started their recording careers. Today, Sun Studio still serves as a recording studio in the evenings while hosting public tours during the daytime hours.

Didn't have to book our tour, just turned up a bit before. Lots of daily tours available and they certainly pack them in. Was a bit rushed, but our tour guide was brilliant and really brought the studios to life. I found the whole thing very moving with some hairs up on the back of the neck moments to think of all the greats that have recorded there. Well worth a visit if you are into music.

A really was a good trip. Taken there from Beale Street by free shuttle. Soon on a trip around by very likeable guide who obviously enjoyed his work. All seemed the same as in old pics, as if time had stood still,,,,lots to buy but no one pushed anything. Well worth a visit, in fact essential !!

We had a terrific tour guide, and was just blown away by the history and how we were able to sit in the studio, and really feel like we were "guests", not paid tourists! SO much more history than I imagined, and the fact that it is STILL a working studio is so cool. Don't forget to use your AAA card for a discounted admission….and if your tour guide is good, PLEASE tip!

See it, breathe it, soak it all up. Brilliant. Tours are a little rushed and crowded but not too much to spoil this super attraction. A must for all music fans.
