Owner description: Sun Studio - The place where an 18 year old Elvis Presley recorded his first song. It’s well-known in the music industry as "The Birthplace of Rock 'N' Roll" and the most famous recording studio in the world. Opened by rock pioneer Sam Phillips in 1950, this national Historic Landmark is where superstar musicians like Elvis Presley, Jerry Lee Lewis, B.B. King, Howlin' Wolf, Johnny Cash, Roy Orbison and countless others started their recording careers. Today, Sun Studio still serves as a recording studio in the evenings while hosting public tours during the daytime hours.

Not sure what I expected from Sun Studios but as they run a free shuttle all over town to get visitors I guessed it wasn't much. Well I was wrong the history of the studios is fascinating especially when bought to life by the very enthusiastic people that work at the studios. Our guides name was Jason and he was excellent, he earned his tip more than anyone I've met so far in the US with interesting information delivered excellently. Would recommend this as an absolute must not a have to regardless. Oh children under 5 cannot go on the tour.

I wasn't sure what to expect when going to Sun Studio and was pleasantly surprised. It is small and a fairly short tour, but interesting and informative. It is a must if you are visiting Memphis.
