Owner description: Sun Studio - The place where an 18 year old Elvis Presley recorded his first song. It’s well-known in the music industry as "The Birthplace of Rock 'N' Roll" and the most famous recording studio in the world. Opened by rock pioneer Sam Phillips in 1950, this national Historic Landmark is where superstar musicians like Elvis Presley, Jerry Lee Lewis, B.B. King, Howlin' Wolf, Johnny Cash, Roy Orbison and countless others started their recording careers. Today, Sun Studio still serves as a recording studio in the evenings while hosting public tours during the daytime hours.

A very cool tour with lots of history. Unlike many places, there are no restrictions on photos, touching things, etc. I believe our tour guide's name was Ellen (hope I remembered that correctly because she was excellent - knowledgeable and passionate about what she was doing). A must do in Memphis.

Had toured Graceland earlier in the day and was just driving into downtown Memphis to see what there was to see when we spotted the Sun Records Studio. We knew that there was a tour available but it was zero on our priority list, but since we were there we stopped to see what they had to offer.

I'm Glad we did! It's a small space packed with priceless '50s rock memorabiia and the tour guide's enthusiasm was infectious. A nice 'Coda' for the end of the day's Elvis experience.

Amazing! We had the best tour guide ever. Well worth the trip to Memphis just go to here! If you like the music you will love it. Even if you don't like the music you can appreciate the history.
