Owner description: Sun Studio - The place where an 18 year old Elvis Presley recorded his first song. It’s well-known in the music industry as "The Birthplace of Rock 'N' Roll" and the most famous recording studio in the world. Opened by rock pioneer Sam Phillips in 1950, this national Historic Landmark is where superstar musicians like Elvis Presley, Jerry Lee Lewis, B.B. King, Howlin' Wolf, Johnny Cash, Roy Orbison and countless others started their recording careers. Today, Sun Studio still serves as a recording studio in the evenings while hosting public tours during the daytime hours.

Was in Memphis back in Jan and stopped by Sun Studio - so very glad we did. This place is amazing. Standing in the very room where so many much admired musicians have recorded gave me chills and left me feeling totally inspired. Lots of interesting facts and info. It's been six months since our visit and I'm still blown away by how great a time we had a Sun Studio; this was definitely a highlight of our last trip to the USA. I rate this a must see destination for any Memphis visitor.

Even though I am not the biggest Elvis/ Johnny Cash/ Carl Perkins (etc) fan (I am a HUGE Beatles fan, and since these people greatly influenced the Beatles I decided to go on this tour) I had a great time here! We had an awesome tour guide and we got to see (and HEAR) some really cool stuff. So, if you are at all into ROCK music this is a MUST DO if you are in the area!

We went to for the tour not really expecting much. The tour started upstairs for a short history of the studio and it's founder. Jason was our tour guide and he was very knowledgeable and energetic. After we went down to the studio. You could really feel the history in the room. The pictures of musicians peer down on you as you listen to their music. The tour took close to 1 hour but it went quick. We enjoyed the tour a lot more than we planned. Plus Jason made it fun.

Today as part of a youth service trip, with a group of high school aged kids from the state of Kentucky, we were lucky enough to stop and tour this wonderful historical site. It is worth the cost every cent of it! And if you are lucky enough to have Jake as your tour guide you are in for a real treat. He presented information with interesting twists that keep visitors engaged. I would highly recommend this sight you will not regret seeing it.

The tour here was the best! Jake was an awesome tour guide. He seemed really interested in what he was telling us and was really personable and funny. Absolutely loved it.
