“Lovely art museum”
Reviewed January 23, 2013

The art museum has three floors, but still small and even cozy in some of the rooms.. The building is lovely and looks like a grand mansion. It works well with the intense colors painted on the walls, which show off the intensity of the paintings on the walls. There is a variety of styles, from portraits to wooden furniture, to Ethiopian painted Bible, to modern sculpture. A well stocked gift shop draws one to linger and to purchase something whimsical for a souvenir.

“A most enjoyable small museum with a nice, and popular restaurant.”
Reviewed December 3, 2012

The collection of paintings is small, but well-organized. It is always a pleasure to enjoy several wonderful paintings in a room to oneself! I visited on December 2nd, and there was no charge, either for the permanent collection, or for the fabulous Tiffany exhibit, on display until mid-January 2013. I took two tours of the Tiffany glass and silver. A really nice feature of the exhibit was the display of the same model lamp, using different choices of colored glass. Just beautiful. The accompanying descriptions were very good; some included the cost of the piece at the time of purchase relative to the average annual income of the year. The holiday market was going on...very busy, with nice gift possibilities.

“Elegant and refined”
Reviewed November 28, 2012

A lovely settin gin Overton Park. Be sure and stop in the eclectic gift shop for fun items are very reasonable prices. Make a reseration for your lunch as soon as you enter as it gets very busy at lunch time- well worth the wait though. The museum is small but full of wonderful paintings.

“Very nice museum!”

This is a great art museum with a wide variety of genres. The price was very affordable too. At the time we visited, we saw a Tiffany Lamp exhibit. Beautiful!

“Pay what you can day”
Reviewed October 30, 2012

I really like this museum. I took my wife to the Armed and Dangerous exibition. It was amazing to see the weaponry used over the last 3000 years of human existence. This place really makes you think. If your into history like I am you will love the place. There are two ways to save money when visiting this place. One is by getting a 2 for 1 discount online from the picounts website and the other is to visit on pay what you can day. Either way youll be spending a few dollars to see thousands of years of history all in one place. You really cant beat that.
