A nice place to experience the Memphis blues scene and good food. Beale street is a exciting place and being at B.B. King's was in the heart of the area.

We dropped in on a late Sunday afternoon after arriving in town. We were quickly seated right next to the stage. Our waitress was attentive and brought our drinks & food as it was available. My son & husband ordered BBQ ribs; they liked the wet sauce rather than the dry rub. I had a side salad and my other son ordered a spicy chicken pasta dish - we were going to split the too. My salad was long in arriving and when it did, our waitress had the kitchen make it a full size salad at the $4 price because I had to wait. Very nice!! The music was great while we were there!!

We were seated for lunch at 11:30, 5-6 other tables had food and drink so we figured someone was working?!? After 10 minutes of waiting we got up and walked out and told the hostess we never got a serves!! Her response was things are slow in the morning...it was 11:30am not 6:30am!

First restaurant on touristy Beale Street. There is $5 cover charge to enter. Loud! Not the place to go for intimate dining conversations. Line out the door. Great band playing though; we enjoyed the music! The place is dark, looks quite run down (maybe this is their motif), generally small, claustrophobically tight. I'm thinking fire hazard. Food is average and overpriced (you are paying for the name). We ordered ribs & catfish platter. Miniscule catfish got lost in a massive bed of fried pickles... seriously, you can only eat enough fried pickles. Likewise with the overabundance of fries. Staff is overly busy; looks like they could use more servers. There's bathroom staff handing out toiletries & paper towels (for a tip) in the ladies room... is this really necessary??? This isn't a 5 star hotel! (is there more productive use of her time?) It made us very uncomfortable. There is a store on your way out for souvenirs. My husband is a BB King fan, so he bought a t-shirt. I was told of better food right across the street (but no band/music).

Great fried pickles. The rest of the food was adequate at best. Service was quick and friendly. Overpriced but enjoyed the atmosphere.
