Initially I thought it would be cheesy, but it was so well done. They go through the history of Rock and Soul room by room. The juekboxes are great and you can hear any songs you want to full length through your headphones.

I highly recommend this museum to everyone. You get to know how the music started here. You take the self guided audio tour at your own pace. The experience is fun and enjoyable. You will not get bored. We purchased the Memphis Discount Pass at the Visitor Center for $60, which includes tickets to here (the Rock n Roll Museum), Graceland, Sun Studio, Soulsville (Stax), and Gibson Guitar Factory Tour. 5 Attractions for the price of 4.

We discovered this place by mistake and are glad that we did. Not just a musical history, but a social history too. Take time to enjoy every one of the excellent exhibits. Very friendly and helpful staff.

This museum was created with the help of the Smithsonian and it was done really well so you'll learn something(s) whether you like it or not. And even if the history and knowledge doesn't turn you on the music is great, so you'll probably enjoy it if you like rock, blues, jazz, or contemporary music.

We didn't know about this museum, but happened to walk by and decided to give it a try. I'm glad we did. First off: The staff was very nice and helpful. The guy at the ticket counter asked us about our plans in Memphis and offered us a visitors pass which saved us quite some money. For $55 we've got to see 4 attraction Stax Records, Sun Studio, Graceland platinum tour and the Rock n Soul Museum. The deal also includes free shuttle service to those places which usually cost an extra fee.

The museum offers a great collection of memorabilia. You also learn quite a bit about the history, not only about the music, but life in that region in general. They have a gift shop inside as well and you can purchase water/soda/juice and snacks.

If you love music - it's a must see! Very informative, very interesting!
