This was my first time to visit Graceland. We purchased Platnum ticket which got us into all attractions. After purchasing the ticket there was about an hour wait so it gave us time to visit the attractions on that side of the street (Airplanes,Cars, etc.). The line looks very long when waiting to go to Graceland but it moves very quickly. They take your picture before boarding the bus so be prepared to spend 30 dollars for the pictures and about that for your platnum ticket. As you board the bus they give you earphones and a radio. This is a guided tour using this devise. I was skeptical at first but I grew to really enjoy being able to go through Graceland and my own pace. As the group stalls you can pause the recorder and then restart when you get to the area. You will not go upstairs where Elvis passed. That is out of respect that it is closed off to the public. Many trophy rooms. After the tour was over we waited maybe 5 minutes and a bus was there to take us back. They had complementary umbrellas for those areas were it was not covered. No flash photography or video is allowed. Just remember to take your time and read what you want. There is a tour coming in right behind you but that does not mean you have to be rushed. Your recorder will pause everytime you leave one facilty into another. It also allows you to punch in codes that can tell you more than the simple guided tour. FYI: Each attraction exits into a gift shop.

Its Elvis and thats probably why you are here-so enjoy the experience. We loved it but it was Saturday and the Disneyland style queues were a bit wearing. When you finally get to the house itself its all worth it. Visit the birthplace in Tupelo a couple of hours away.

Got there really early on a sunday (8am) so we were the first in line. It was a couple of weeks before the anniversary of his death so the crowds were not too big on an early sunday morning. It was a great tour. Airplanes need some kind of air conditioning, it was really hot and stuffy in them. but the rest was fabulous!!

We visited Graceland when we stopped for a night in Memphis. We had a great time, I had done little research before going to the house so I really wasn't expecting too much. I was truly impressed with everything we did. The house was quite unique. I was impressed with how humble the home was. They do not allow people to go upstairs in the mansion, they stated that this was because when Elvis was living here he only entertained people on the first floor and the second floor was private space. This didn't really bother me but I could see how someone might be a little annoyed if they wanted to see more. His grave was quite impressive as well.

His planes and car museum were also great and worth the small price for the upgraded ticket

One tip is to buy the package that includes Stax, Sun, and the RocknSoul museum as well as the platinum Graceland. It will save you a few bucks if you are going to do them all like we did. We arrived during the week in the afternoon and there was no line.
