I guess I expected more of seeing the home....you will not be able to see Elvis' private area basically upstairs housing the bedrooms, they said Elvis' always greeted his guests downstairs and upstairs was private so they are keeping the tradition. Overall, it was an ok tour, at least I can say I've seen Greaceland. I was more impressed seeing the automobiles, beautiful Rolls, Purple Caddy, and the Pink one too.....

“Part of history”
Reviewed April 14, 2013 via mobile

Been here a few times throughout the years. Must do in Memphis. Elvis was a legend, alive and dead. His home and airplanes are preserved as they were back in the day, along with his vehicles...He is also buried there. The neighborhood is definitely a little run down now. Hard to imagine passing thru Memphis and not passing or stopping by Graceland

“The King of Rock's Home”
Reviewed April 14, 2013

I didn't know what to expect from a visit to Graceland, but I was very pleasantly surprised by the quality of the exhibits. I was a bit concerned when we pulled in and found they wanted $10 for parking. My concerns grew when I saw the ticket prices, which are closer to amusement park than museum prices. After the visit, I felt that it was worth every penny. After all these years, it's hard to remember Elvis' impact on our culture but the displays bring it all home. Highly recommended for anyone old enough to remember the King of Rock & Roll.

“Brilliant”
Reviewed April 14, 2013

As a elvis fan this was the highlight of my trip to Memphis. I imagined the house would be massive but was surprised how much smaller it was. The tour was informative and the rooms were amazing. Have been back again and it was just as good the second time.

“You have to accept Graceland for what it is.....”
Reviewed April 14, 2013

...which is (1) the sixties and seventies, preserved and (2) a money-making machine. Yes, there are gift shops everywhere. Yes, they charge ten bucks to park. Yes, it's tacky (though as a child of the seventies, I have a soft spot for shag carpet on the walls). Yes, it glosses over some of the less pleasant aspects of Elvis's life (like the fact that Priscilla was fourteen years old when they started dating, and that Elvis had multiple affairs before and during their marriage). But I came away from there with a new appreciation for Elvis, and it left me wanting to learn more about him.
You park across the street from the mansion and buy your tickets tickets there. As you board the shuttle to go across the street (which is really a four lane highway) you're given an audio tour, which really added to the experience. The tour guides you through the house, outbuildings, the yard, and the "meditation garden" where he is buried. There is a ton to see inside and I wish I could have lingered, but it was pretty crowded. It was also pouring rain and cold the day we went, which made me very appreciative of the quick shuttle service and the hanging heaters above the shuttle line. Once you're done with the tour, the shuttle takes you back across the street, where you can buy any Elvis tchotchke you could envision, and if you've paid for the platinum tour, you can see his cars and his planes (the cars exhibit was especially enjoyable). If you go to memphistravel dot com/special-offers, there is a printable coupon for a few bucks off the platinum tour that is good for every adult in your group.
It's something any music fan should see at least once. Go. And afterward, have lunch at Uncle Lou's Fried Chicken, which is a five minute drive from Graceland. You're welcome.
