“It's such a special place!”
Reviewed December 28, 2012

What can I say about Graceland?....As a massive Elvis fan, there is no other place on Earth you'd rather be. I've been on 2 separate occasions & enjoyed both visits, equally.
This is where he lived, as a normal guy & that's not something, we, as fans got to experience. It's exactly how he left it...still decorated in that fantastic, over-the-top 70's style!
To be allowed into this private part of Elvis' life, is truly an honour.
There are so many of his personal belongings on display for you to see. Everything you can think of really. And the exhibitions are fantastic. You are given a headset to hear stories about Elvis, by people who knew him best, his family. The queues are long, but they go down very quickly.
Of course, the most sombre moment is saved for the Meditation Garden, where Elvis & his family are laid to rest. It's truly a beautiful setting & somewhere you can pay your respects (if that's what you want to do).
Graceland Plaza (just over the road) is full of gift shops & restaurants. You can easily spend most of your day here. And of course, Elvis' famous planes are parked over the road too.
Any Elvis fan could visit this place, year after year & never tire of it.
It's such a special place!

“A fitting tribute.”
Reviewed December 28, 2012 via mobile

Graceland mansion is a must for those visiting Memphis. Elvis Presley blvd is starting to be regenerated, so hopefully will be more pleasing to the eye. However, can't fault the mansion itself. A fitting tribute to the worlds greatest entertainer. Can't say the same for the shops. Selling tacking merchandise at way over the top prices. Other exhibits are usually included in ticket price and well worth a look. 10/10 for mansion and exhibits.

“Above ground time capsule”
Reviewed December 26, 2012

Stepping back into time is an understatement when talking about Graceland. The point is to see the place as it was when Elvis lived there so it is appropriately decorated as he had it - watch out for the green shag carpet on the floor, walls, and ceiling. You will get to see the main level and the basement but the top level is closed to visitors due to a mix of logistical safety issues and respect for Elvis - few guests were allowed up there when he was alive and the family has closed it off to all but close family and the curator. The mansion tour also includes a visit to the trophy building where several gold and platinum records are kept as well as displays about different aspects of Elvis' life and career. As a heads up, you may want to bring a fan or brochure to move the air a little. It is very stuffy in this room - the air does not move at all and can make you want to rush through the exhibits so as to get out. The tour ends at the meditation garden where Elvis is buried with close family. It is very well done and offers a great opportunity to reflect and pay respects. It is worth it to get either the Platinum or VIP tickets (rather than just the basic ticket) because you get to see other exhibits besides the mansion. The automobile and airplane exhibits were the most interesting to us of the additional exhibits. Graceland is the second most visited home in the US after the White House so there will be plenty of people there. We went in December to avoid the crowds so if you can I would recommend going in the off season. Space is limited in the mansion and exhibits so the fewer people you have to contend with the better.

“The best--what else would you expect?”
Reviewed December 25, 2012

I loved everything about Graceland, the gift shops, the different museams, the food. I would like to see a decent salad with grilled chicken for "no carb conscious" people. There might have been one--didn't check out every restaurant. LOVE this place.
