I stayed here for 1 Saturday night because it was only 1.6 miles from Beale Street and unlike many other hotels that raise their rates on the weekends, this place did not. My room was located on the back side of the building overlooking a large old abandoned building with all of it's windows broken (not Super 8s fault ofcourse) however I kind of felt like this hotel was heading for the same outcome. In short, it has the feel of a "Welfare Motel",..somewhere that the state would put you if you were homeless. I'm not one of those haters that's looking to instill misery in to others that read my review, just telling it like it is. They put what looked like a new coat of paint on the walls and the room had a good sized fridge & microwave which I always like, but the rug and the furniture looked like it was from the 1970s, the`kind of stuff you'd see out on the curb because nobody bought it at the yard sale. I'm all about traveling on a budget but this is one of those places that just makes you sad. I'm sorry but I can't honestly believe that any of these reviewers could have enjoyed this motel and got a peaceful rejuvenating rest in this environment.
In short, I should have dropped an extra $25.00 bucks and stayed somewhere a little nicer. I'm worth it,...and so are you!

Contrary to what these reviews would lead one to believe, this Super 8 is an excellent accommodation for the price. The dining area is quite nice, the staff is extremely kind/helpful, and marble elevators will greet you as you ascend to your room. It is also in an excellent location-- just a few minutes from Beale Street. The hotel will even provide a shuttle to and from downtown so you don't have to spend money on a cab. Don't listen to the negativity.

Parking lot was host to many sketchy looking characters. Lobby was still being painted and had large white blotches against yellow and red walls. Pillows were stained and hair was found on sheets. Toilet was rusting on the bottom of it. Bathroom door did not lock. To top it all off, this hotel was located next to railroad tracks. A squeaky train braking right next to the hotel every 15 to 20 minutes. Also, the air would kick in for 3 seconds and turn off again.

Find somewhere else to stay! This hotel is in a super shady area surrounded by abandoned buildings with broken windows. There's a train track nearby that is very busy and very loud. You can hear everything going on in your neighbors' rooms. There are just a lot of extra noises you can hear in your room that make sleeping very difficult. We also never had bath towels because they were always "in the wash." The shuttle they offer is nice even though you must pay a bit for it, and the lady who drove us was very friendly. It's a nice distance from Beale St. The little rat turds in the bath tub were a nice touch. The counter and sink are outside the bathroom which is nice for people trying to get ready while others are showering. Then that makes the bathroom with the toilet and shower very small. We were a big group of college kids going for football and New Year's Eve so it was fine for us to handle, but I would NOT stay here alone or with a family. Especially not kids.

Room Tip: I guess I would ask for a side opposite of the train tracks, but then you'd have to stare at creepy abandoned buildings and wouldn't get to view your car. Just find somewhere else to go.
