The check in process was expedient, yet received with many smiles and a comforting humor. These folks really care about their jobs. From the landscaping to the towels, one can tell this hotel, management and staff truly care about their guests experience. Comfy beds. Nice restaurant with good food. Great location near the trolly to Beale Street and great music. Close to Riverfront jogging trails. Nice gym. Great, secured parking. Just an overall excellent stay. Thanks Crown Plaza

This was our second stop on a Music City Marti Gras tour. We were put in a single bed room even though I listed 4 travelers and selected the correct room. Also, I called prior to our arrival to make sure there would be a refrigerator in our room, b/c I was bringing food to out of town friends. The person I spoke with said we would, since I am a Priority Club member, but upon arrival because they had us booked in a king instead of two queen, we were unable to be on the Priority level floor, meaning there was no refrigerator. Check in took about 30 minutes because they were trying to get someone to bring us a refrigerator, and in the end one was brought to our room. Also, upon check out, they charged the wrong credit card. This was not a major issue, but I did not get extra reward points. We have been to Memphis one other time. I was very impressed with the location of this hotel, the proximity to the trolley was awesome. The lobby was nice and there was always a luggage cart available. The rooms were comfortable and the bathrooms were nice. I must say, the room was VERY dark. There were not nearly enough lights/windows. I would stay here again because the rate was awesome and it was nice otherwise, but I may check on other hotels first.

We booked this hotel on Hotwire. My son and I arrived around 10:45pm from the Amtrak station. We had been to Houston where I was undergoing cancer treatment. We had limited funds and I know fully well that when using a debit card that they put a hold for incidentals on the card. Normally this is an amount between $25.00 and $50.00 for a one night stay. We checked in very tired, the hotel restaurant and room service were not operating and I asked for the number of a pizza delivery restaurant. They gave me one and I called to order us a pizza. Imagine my surprise when my debit card declined. I went to the business center to check my balance and was shocked to see that this hotel put a hold on my card for not only the incidental charge but for room and tax as well! I advised them of this and they said sorry but there is nothing we can do. I said my son and I need to eat and were going to order a pizza now we cannot. I asked for a manager and he said very curtly "We can call your bank tomorrow if you want". I asked since they already had almost $200.00 held on our card if they could simply pay for the pizza if I ordered and charge it to my room. They said no. Now from being a former hotel executive I know that they could have done this. So I had a crying child who was hungry. We went to our luggage and scrapped up enough change to have almost enough for the pizza. I called and explained the situation to the pizza delivery store and guess what. They brought us a free pizza. That was service! But as far as this hotel goes. Stay away, far away. Horrible customer service. They simply did not care about our situation at all. A poor excuse for a hotel. Hopefully someone in management will read about this and respond but I highly doubt it.

Myself, my wife, and 8yr old son stayed 2 nights at the Crowne Plaza March 19th and 20th. The hotel staff were very nice and helpful with any questions we had. The hotel was very clean, as well was the room. The room we stayed in had two double beds and was more spacious than other chain hotels we have stayed at. We would have liked the hotel to have been closer to the Trolley line though, it was a short hike to the neighboring Marriot hotel for us to catch the Trolley to go downtown. By all means, use the Trolley, it only costs $1 per person (have some dollar bills handy, the machine don't give change) , compared to other means it is a steal and is quite a nostalgic expierience. The hotel security was very sufficient, parking your car behind the hotel costs $10 per day w/unlimited access in/out , at night there is a guard shack at the entrance with a guard that patrols the lot all night. This is a 4 star hotel and I didn't feel pressured to have to tip anyone, although I didn't ask for help with anything, I was offered help but didn't need any. Check-in was fast and check-out was even faster.

The only negatives I can say about our stay is; The lighting in the room- could have been more lights, it was very dim with all the lights on, The desk in the room needed some assistance with its legs, they needed tightening really bad, table wobbled around when using our laptop. Location to Trolley line access.

I am writing about the Crowne Plaze Memphis, actually I am writing from the room as I stay here. First of all when we drove up to check in, there was a Tahoe ahead of us with a TV in the back seat playing a porno flick. I have a 9 and 10 year old daughter so wasn't real thrilled about this. No one was even IN the vehicle so why it was necessary to leave it on is beyond me. Of course, this wasn't the fault of the hotel, just what we saw when we first drove up. When we asked for suggestions of where to eat we were told we needed to eat in their restaurant as Bealle St. did not allow children. We quickly learned this was a lie. That night we saw three buses pull in full of kids. They made a ton of noise but we were so tired, it wasn't so bad the first night. Then they woke us up two hours before we planned on getting up the next a.m. which bothered me because this IS our vacation, However, we were nice about this thinking, what the heck, we'll get an earlier start on our day. They had their furniture, even a couch drug out into the hallway. (Adults were sitting on the couches, so these kids were making all this noise under adult supervision). When we got in that night, they were making a ton of noise again. By this time I was exhsuasted. When I called the front desk to complain, for the first time, I was treated like I was the one at fault. Treated extremely RUDE and was told that NOTHING could be done about the noise. They were VERY clearly very ANGRY that I called to complain, for some reasonl. When I asked if they couldn't do anything, should I just call the police, they said "Go ahead,". Then as if to add insult to injury, they send a guy up to vacum the hallway at 9:00 pm, right after I called to complain about the noise, proving that for me to dare complain about the noice, they will SEE to it that there is even MORE noise for me to enjoy. From the porno flicks to the excessive noise to their refusal to do anything about it, I can tell you I will NEVER stay here again. This place is a JOKE We were here as a family to enjoy a vacation and were basically treated like crap. The big group of people did NOT need to let the kids run up and down, yelling in the halls while the grownups drug couches out in the hallway to watch them act like idiots. I would think OUR feelings mattered at least as much as theirs. But obviously not. NEVER AGAIN. I WILL NEVER STAY AT THE CROWNE PLAZE MEMPHIS EVER AGAIN with these jerks that run this place. Its a JOKE>

I am terribly sorry for the incoveniences that occurred during your stay at my hotel. We had several youth groups in house that appeared to have gotten out of hand. There were chaperones for each group, but as I can see from your review they obviously did not help the situation.

This is not a normal occcurance here as we typically cater more to a different customer base. I apologize again for the incidents that occurred during your stay here.
