“Great outing for anyone”
Reviewed April 18, 2007

I love the zoo, I've been a member for years and I think it's one of the best attractions for locals and tourists alike that we have to offer here. Our zoo isn't the biggest, fanciest, or most high-tech around, but it's certainly exceptional for our city. They have revamped the zoo so much over the years that it doesn't even look the same. The China exhibit is spectacular as is the new Northern Passage. The zoo is perfect for anyone who wants a family-friendly environment and a relaxing day. I go up there often just for a few hours to walk around, see the animals, and have a nice peaceful afternoon. The location is also great, in the heart of midtown, in Overton Park, and near the art center.

“Great family activity”
Reviewed February 13, 2007

My husband and I and our 8 year old daughter spent about 3 hours at this zoo and it was wonderful. It is not the biggest zoo we have ever been to but it certainly was the prettiest. We found it to be just the right size. The pandas were very cool.

“Nothing spectacular, but it was fun”
Reviewed November 9, 2006

Went there with my husband a few weeks ago, and it was fun, but nothing too special. The pandas are really cool because they are hard to find in zoos now. The sea lion show was fun, and we got to see an elephant during a bathing session, that was really cute. They had a lot of different primates there also. Otherwise, if you have been to a bigger zoo, you may not be excited about this one.I have been t othe Indianapolis Zoo, which was really great, probably better than the Memphis Zoo, but I still had a lot of fun.

“Wonderful zoo, would definitely recommend!”
Reviewed October 20, 2006

If you are anywhere near the memphis area, you must check out this zoo! They are one of only four zoos in the u.s. to exhibit giant pandas. And they have spent $77 million in renovations since the early 1990's. Everything looks nice and new and clean. There is a sea lion show and also "keeper chats" where the zoo keepers tell about the animals. There are more than 3500 animals to see, plenty of places to eat, tram rides, and even a carousel. Definitely check this one out!
