Myself and my colleagues have stayed in very many B&Bs throughout the British Isles and Ireland. Ive never felt the need to comment on any of them - until now. The Annexe at Ardgarry Farm was clean and well kept but the shower did not work - it dribbled out and thats no exaggeration. We were working in the area for a week and really would have enjoyed a decent shower in the evenings after work. We are not ones for confrontation so didnt complain. (maybe should have).
The TV was a modern LCD flat screen but the two remote controls didnt work - only one changed the volume. There was really bad background sound interference but it was just bearable.
Room was cleaned ok and towels changed but no replacement coffee on the first day and only two small sachets on the second day.
We asked for packed lunches on arrival and were told that wasnt possible.
Breakfast was good - well cooked and well presented. No large cereal spoons on day two.
We left at 3am on the last day to catch a ferry home to Ireland. We obviously didnt expect a cooked breakfast that morning but it would have been nice to have been offered a continental 'serve yourself' breakfast in our room. We werent offered this and were charged full rate for our final night.
All in all we were disappointed with the level of service and attention to detail. Needless to say we will be looking for an alternative B&B next visit.
