We cannot comment or the hotel side of things as we stayed at the local Sunnyside campsite, but as we used the Cnoc on a daily basis I can comment on the bar aspect. It is very cosy and warm with a very pleasant and friendly welcome every time we went in. David and his wife, are lovely people and always made time for a chat, and showed a genuine interest in their customers, they also serve a brilliant pint or pints of Guinness. Terrific views from the seating area outside due to the elevation, right across the bay. Everything about the Cnoc, is fantastic,we loved it,,, I think you should try it.

I stay at the Cnoc as often as I can. At least once a year travelling over from Aberdeen specially.

The bedrooms are beautiful and top quality with the comfiest bed you'll ever sleep in. The staff are warm and friendly and the food in the restaurant is excellent. If you're lucky you may even get a local muscisian playing in the bar which has always been a treat in the past.

Even if the hotel wasn't such a draw all on its own the local area is stunning with walks and day trips galore. If there is only time for one place to see in Scotland I'd make Mallaig and Arisaig it.

Room Tip: They are all fabulous

My fiancee and I visit the area on a regular basis as campers at the nearby Croft campsite, due to this we decided we would like to get married in the area. Surrounded by wild rugged coastline and some beautiful beaches the Cnoc harnesses all we love about Arisaig providing unpretentious quality accommodation and food. We booked one night at the hotel with a view to meeting the owners and discuss wedding plans, on arrival we were warmly welcomed and shortly shown to our room. Yes the room was not huge however the quality of the furnishings and decor made up for this, not to mention one of the comfiest beds we have slept in! I feel I have to mention the bathroom as this was quite large and well equipped with toiletries and shower was also hot and powerful.
We booked a table for dinner in the restaurant and were very impressed with the service, quality and portions of food, in fact we both had to give in and left some on our plates.
After dinner we retired to the bar for a few drinks which was small but friendly with the locals being in good form, don't sit in b###sh## corner though unless you have thick skin.
On retiring to our room guests are offered a wee dram from the decanter on the top landing, we didn't partake however felt this was a nice touch.

All in all we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will definitely be back, in fact August 2012 where we will tie the knot. Well done to all the staff who made us feel welcome and look forward to the big day.

My partner and I stayed at the Cnoc in October 2011 having rushed to Scotland on an urgent family visit. Couldn't rate the rooms, food, bar and hospitality highly enough. The hosts David and Jennie and all the staff are wonderful - all of them have worked there for many years. We stayed in the Eriskay Room - gorgeous views of the hills, really well appointed, cosy and warm.

Love the decor and we ate there almost every night (6 nights) without getting bored or having a less than excellent meal. Friends joined us for an evening and they too love the place.

We will definitely return to the Cnoc on our next visit, even though we have family close by.

Room Tip: We loved the Eriskay Room (hope I've spelled that correctly!). Terrific views and really apprec...
