“Perfect Relaxing Holiday”
Reviewed September 5, 2017 for a stay in August 2017

This was a much needed holiday. We booked it with the hope of secluded private and peaceful accommodation, we were not disappointed. We stayed in The Stables cottage. The cottage is delightful; rustic and very cozy. Its a perfect size for two adults and 1 to 2 children, although half way through my sister and bother-in-law visited to celebrate my 50th birthday and it was fine with four adults for a short time. We were made to feel very welcome by the owners and was given a tour of the grounds and swimming pool area. We were pretty much left alone but felt we could approach the owners if we needed anything. Its a short walk into the local town of Wigtown (Scotlands celebrated book town) which is full of quirky and interesting cafes/bookshops and there are some truly stunning sights and coastline just a short drive away. We really enjoyed our swimming session every day and apart from once it felt like our own private pool. The pool was one of the main draws to booking here but even without the pool we would have been happy. If I was to change anything at all it would be just a few cosmetic things like the patio needs clearing and could do with a new picnic table; the cooker could do with updating as all the numbers have worn off it and I never knew what temp I was using and the sofa is way too squashy to sit on so never really used it. However, overall it was an extremely positive experience and we are hoping to return in the Spring. Also to say that the accommodation is dog friendly too, this was the perfect place for our 11 year old Lurcher who is recovering from a leg injury!

“Pleasant stay”
Reviewed October 2, 2016 for a stay in September 2016

Nice location, fully equipped cottage, but slightly disappointed with some of the fittings, broke fridge door, settee not ideal as is bed settee, bed very uncomfortable, we needed to pad out using the spare quilts from the single beds. But all in all a nice place and it didn't spoil our break. Would recommend for a peaceful break, just need to update a few things .

We travelled to stay here in August with our son and 11 month old daughter for a peaceful relaxing holiday ! We certainly would recommend the cottages to anybody looking for a relaxed chilled out holiday ! The owners Hazel & Ian are so accommodating and such lovely friendly people, who instantly make you feel welcome and nothing is too much trouble !
We enjoyed the private Swimming pool and the garden was perfect for our children to play in !
We certainly enjoyed our stay and are looking forward to returning again Next year !

Thanks Ian, Hazel
