“Great pub”
Reviewed June 26, 2013

Great pub, friendly atmosphere, friendly staff. good service. The food was good too, apart from the veg which are slightly undercooked and seemed to be missing the seasoning.

“Nice stop for food, can take the dog in”
Reviewed June 21, 2013

The atmosphere and surroundings were nice, we ate in the bar due to the dog but the restaurant looked lovely, albeit empty but it was about 1730. Starters were great, pâté, chicken and mushrooms, the mains were not so great, the steak and ale pie wasn't a pie but puff pastry on top of a steak mix-was ok, lamb irish stew was really not so good, burger was well a good burger and the sausage and mash was great. No pudding had and drinks were normal and average prices. Would stop again but probs just for starters/snack.

“Just Fantastic....”
Reviewed June 10, 2013

The food was fantastic and the smallish crowd in the Pub couldn't have been more welcoming. Toward the end of the night, Derek the chef/owner came out to join in the revelry.

The night that we had in that pub is what keeps me scheming to get back to Scotland.

Great night to Andrew, John and Willie...

“Average”
Reviewed April 29, 2013

Popped in for a quick bite to eat on Saturday. I had the scampi and chips and must say enjoyed it, although a few more chips would have been welcome. My partner ordered trio of sausages, expecting 3 locally sourced varieties, instead it came with 3 large sausages, the ones you get in chip shops. He did finish it as he was hungry but did comment that he thought the sausages would have been better quality. The pub itself was very nice, roaring fire on and we sat next to the electric stove and must admit I did feel rather cold.
I really dont know if we would go back, probably not as there are other places to try in the area, just feel it could have been better than it was.
