We have just been on a weeks holidya at the wonderful Auld Dairy Cottage by Drummore and the Clashwannon is the nearest place to the cottage. We were in there 3 times this week for dinner and it was amazing. From the lovely friendly owners, the charming locals who chatted to us, the free wifi which was great for us as there was no access at the cottage or round about, to the lovely, tasty food it was a little bit of home away from home. My hubby had different meals every night - a lovely sizzling chicken stir fry the first night, a mixed grill the second night and battered crispy beef in chilli sauce the third night and he loved every one of them - I had the veggie burger with chips two nights and had the battered brie from the starter menu with chips the third time as my main meal - two nights I had the amazing gluten free apricot and carrot pudding which was light as a feather and really moreish. The atmosephere is freindly, the pub cozy, the owners are so happy to see you and the food is delicious - made our holiday special - we will certainly be back here next time we are in the area. All this in large portions and at a great price too !!!

Stopped in Drummore for a fishing trip and called in at the Clashwhannon. The couple who ran the place Martin and Louise we so friendly it was like being in my local. The food was fabulous and great value for money. The liquid refreshments were great to, Aspalls cider on tap. They also had guest ales and all the normal selection. They also offer free WIFI. We travelled from Newcastle and it was worth the three and a half hour drive. Very sad to leave, but I can guarantee ill be back and if you go you'll be impressed!!!!

Done go pass without stopping at the Clashwhannon Public House at Drummore. the quotes on their advertisement board are correct. The meals are very good both takeaway meals and meals eaten in, staff members are friendly and dogs are welcomed in the bar room.

Our party of 13 arriving late on a Sunday evening could've proved problematic - not for these friendly, welcoming and professional patrons of a lovely welcoming restaurant. From children's portions of chicken nuggets through to jumbo cod and Sunday roast, everything was perfectly cooked; nicely presented and excellent value for money. As seasoned restaurant diners we recommend this eatery highly. After a leisurely meal enjoy a stroll on the nearby beach.
