“Great family break”
Reviewed August 16, 2016 for a stay in August 2016

Excellent family break at Cairnhapple House, the house is simply outstanding. We stayed for 3 nights (8 adults & 4 young children), the house was perfect and had everything. Extensive grounds for the kids to play and very private. Bedrooms are massive, kitchen is very well equipped. Can't really fault the house at all and Graham was really helpful and responsive to my queries beforehand. The house is actually located nearly 6 miles outside Portpatrick, just on the road to Leswalt but the location is quiet and tranquil. Portpatrick takes only 10mins by car.

“Perfect getaway.”
Reviewed July 10, 2016 for a stay in July 2016

The photographs do not do justice to the size of the house and gardens. Three generations had plenty of room for personal space as well as spacious enough areas for shared time. Two living rooms, both with a fantastic view, a well equipped kitchen for preparing large family meals and a huge garden for playing and getting rid of excess energy. Excellent communications with the owner. Have already recommended to a friend.

“Disabled visitors welcome”
Reviewed October 31, 2015 for a stay in October 2015

Once again, a fantastic visit. The house is wheelchair friendly, with ground floor shower and bath. Graham had even taken the time ti put a shower chair in the bathroom for my father in law's use. There is a ramp to the front door, which is wide enough for a wheelchair. The ground floor rooms and corridors are spacious and light.
We saw jays, pheasant, deer, amongst an array of birds and other wildlife- and red squirrels!
Couldn't be better. Thank you.

“Amazing house in beautiful location”
Reviewed May 27, 2015 for a stay in May 2015

We were delighted with this house! It was so spacious, clean and well equipped. The grounds are fantastic for the kids to explore and we had many good games of football. Thank you for a wonderful holiday.

“A Super Holiday Rental”
Reviewed August 14, 2014 for a stay in August 2014

Cairnhapple House is a super holiday rental for family holidays or those special family occasions We were a family party of twelve [ 6 adults and 6 youngsters ranging from 2 through to 14 years of age] spanning three generations staying for a 3 night weekend break on the 8th, 9th and 10th August.
The house is modern and easily accommodated our party as we found the rooms extremely spacious, spotlessly clean and very well furnished and equipped. For those days when the weather is not ideal [we had a day of non stop rain ] the size of the house really comes into its own as our party and especially the children were happy to amuse themselves indoors for the day. The store of games that were provided helped in this respect.
Although the inside is impressive the outside deserves a mention as to the front there is a pleasant grassed area to enjoy a sunset whilst to the rear is an extensive grassed area ideal for a family game of rounders or football or just for relaxing. This rear area is enclosed by a woodland strip which provides a further interest for all ages in watching the extensive bird life and if you are lucky an occasional red squirrel. The owner was helpful and discrete and as the house is midway between Stranraer and Portpatrick in a rural situation it is well placed if you are considering exploring this terrific area of SW Scotland.

“Beautiful House”
Reviewed July 16, 2014 for a stay in July 2014

We stayed at this house due to being let down by another holiday letting company and only got this at very short notice. The house is immaculate, it is spacious, has every home comfort and its setting is fantastic. Graham the owner made sure we were welcomed with the basics needed to start your holiday (thank you Graham), the rooms are large, beds very comfortable and the kitchen is very well stocked with everything you need. There is so much wildlife there to see in the gardens, woodpeckers; deer; pheasant many varieties of birdlife too many to mention them all. We stayed for 4 nights any had a wonderful break.

“Amazing house, all you could want”
Reviewed October 21, 2013 for a stay in October 2013

This house is beautiful, far better than the pictures make it look and very clean. It is a spacious and comfortable house. The rooms are a good size and well thought out. We were a group of ten aged between 11 and 40+. Great house for hide and seek, adults and children alike!. Lovely area for walking, saw deer, red squirrel, woodpeckers and other birds. Lots of pots and pans, glasses etc in the kitchen. Lovely towels!!! The owner, Graham, is very friendly. Would definitely recommend this house - absolutely beautiful. Wish we were still there.
