“A Genuine Home From Home”

Too many holiday properties ask you to accept that space will be at a premium, cutlery, crockery and the like, the bare minimum for the number of people 'accommodated'. Too often, too, "Sleeps six" means two bedrooms and sofa beds in the living room.
Not here. If this bungalow ever came on the market, it would make a spacious, comfortable permanent home for a family of up to six people. Not only that but in addition to a full range of electrical appliances, including a dishwasher, Shona and Robert McCaig have ensured that there is more than enough crockery, cutlery and glassware to ensure that you don't have to spend half your time washing up. The table in the dining room comfortably accepts six adults; the lounge and the conservatory both have sufficient easy chairs and sofas to avoid the need for anyone to be uncomfortable, and if the weather turns out to be less than you had hoped there are books and games galore, and radios, TVs, audio systems all come in the plural.
And then there is the view: across the sea to Northern Ireland, and on either side of you rolling pasture with sheep to fascinate the kids and the odd hare or two visiting often enough to be something for them to watch out for. For the adults, peace and quiet from being in essentially a traffic free area.
The owners are friendly, helpful and attentive to your needs and live in The House just up the road. I've tried hard in the interests of balance, to think of something which might be improved. I can't.

“Lovely spacious bungalow, fully equipped with everything you could need”

My husband and I, and 4 children (ages 10, 8, 5 and 4 months) thoroughly enjoyed our stay in North Port O Spittal cottage. The surrounding views are spectacular and there was plenty of space for the children to play outdoors safely within the enclosed garden.

The bungalow itself is furnished to a high standard and spotlessly clean. The rooms are all a good size and the beds were very comfortable, with plenty of comfy pillows and thick duvets. The bungalow was also fully equipped with all the essentials you could possibly require (milk, tea/coffee, sugar, binbags etc, and all sorts of cleaning products). We also really appreciated the lovely fresh flowers in the dining room and the bottle of wine chilling in the fridge!

This bungalow has the added bonus of a sun room with wonderful views across the sea to Ireland. We thoroughly enjoyed relaxing in this room, whilst watching the lambs in the field opposite or the numerous different birds flying past.

We enjoyed walking and cycling in the surrounding area and also enjoyed the Ryan Centre (swimming pool with flumes) and Agnew Park in Stranraer (roughly 15 mins by car).

We hope to come back again soon :-)

“Peaceful”

We stayed here during the Easter 2013 holidays and the fact that we returned summer 2014 speaks for itself. With just a field between the house and the cliff edge overlooking the sea to Ireland this home is very quiet and peaceful with enough room for the family to spread out and have their own space as needed.

It has had some new carpets and also wifi added since last year showing the owners commitment to keeping the property up-to-date.

Quiet beaches and walks a plenty in the area, simply beautiful with a variety of wildlife to see.

Recommended.
