“Nice place, great staff”
Reviewed September 7, 2012

Stayed 2 days and was very happy. Ok the room was compact but I needed somewhere to sleep not have a dance. The food was very good, imaginative and reasonably priced. The choice was pub food or thier restaurant, both well worth eating in. Wine list not extensive but a good selection and not bad prices.

Staff excelent

Room Tip: Room was small so if you need space ask

Lovely wee hotel for a mini break, rooms compact but well appointed, staff lovely, great location.
A great place to get away from it all. Food pub style but fresh and reasonably priced. The place itself is nice any time of the year, no real shops to speak of, but nice walks in any weather. I would recommend a visit at least once a year. The Crown nex't door is also great for food especially seafood, and it has live entertainment at the weekend. About 20 mins drive from Stranraer but well worth the effort.

Room Tip: Sea view very nice

We stayed at the Waterfront for the first time during the Folk Festival Weekend and were delighted with the cleanliness, service and standard of accommodation.
Beakfast was delicious, very well cooked and very well presented.
The staff were extremely friendly and even although they were " rushed off their feet" during a very busy weekend, seemed to be enjoying their work.
We will definatey stay there again.

The last time I stayed here, about 2 years ago, the hotel was rather indiferent. This time, however, they seem to have purchased one or more of the adjacent houses that abut the hotel itself. The house that I stayed in gave me a room (on the ground floor) with full en-suite facilities, a flat screen TV, all the coffee/tea makings and was thoroughly comfortable. All the fixtures and fittings were brand new and the whole place was spotless.
Being on the ground floor, at the road side was initially worrying. I neednt have felt so because a) the room had double blinds (this was an old house with thick walls) and b) Portpatrick is definately NOT one of those towns where people are noisy in the street at closing time (unlike some towns I have stayed in!).

Room Tip: Check to see if you have en-suite facilities. I am not sure every room has.

My wife and i have once again enjoyed our stay in the waterfront hotel at the RNLI weekend. . Anne, Geraldine and the staff looked after us as usual with Ralph providing great food not forgetting the excellent Irish coffees. Whether it's a weekend with my wife or our 16 strong golf society during our annual May visit, the treatment and service is just awesome.

Get well soon David but the girls done a great job in your absence.

Room Tip: If you are looking for great views then the front rooms will take some beating, however if it is a q...
