“Lunchtime treat.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 10, 2013

I took advantage of the lunchtime two course set price menu, the food is every bit as good as food served in the evenings but at a much more affordable price. I have eaten here a few times now and have never been dissapointed yet. The food is always top notch and well presented and if it's fish chances are the owner has been out on his boat and caught it himself, you can't get much fresher than that. The staff are very friendly and helpful and the decor very tasteful. Most tables have a good view of the harbour and the Irish sea too.

“I'm not sure I'd spend £90 on my next visit!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 3, 2013

A £90 bill takes some justification but I think Campbell's were just about worth it.

The starters of Portpatrick Lobster and Crab Crepe along with the mussels were very tasty.

The mains of Surf on the Turf & Mixed Shellfish Grill were expensive at nearly £30 each but did look and taste very good.

The Crème Brulee topping was a little soft and the centre slightly watery. The cheese & biscuits were fine.

Service was hit and miss with one waitress very smiley while her colleague was a little brusque and frosty.

The restaurant overlooks Portpatrick harbour which makes for a great location and we will definitely return but hope to spend less.

“The best in Portpatrick”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 22, 2012 via mobile

Had wonderful night a meal of the Christmas menu that was excellent all the way through, plenty of food, great wine and very good coffee to finish all for a reasonable price. Is the best in Portpatrick and should not be compared to cafes. Good value Taxi back to Stranraer.

“Great food, staff, location”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 21, 2012

Had dinner in the restaurant as part of a party of 18 people. The food was excellent, staff friendly and efficient, location great, a must for every visitor to the area.
Don't be put of by its reputation as a seafood restaurant, many of our party opted for non fish options and all the food was delicious.

“Great lunch”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 13, 2012

Lunch for 2 on a november day was the best meal we have had for ages; the set menu was £11.50 for 2 courses; good choices; whitebait fresh, seafood crepes great, vegetables just right and a choice of chips or boiled and a fabulous view, delightful service and a ridiculously low tab. couldn't manage a sweet. Well worth going off the set menu for seafood OR steaks based on previous experience but for a great lunch at a ridiculous price, must be world class.
