This restaurant has been extremely but since it opened a year or so ago. There's a simple reason for that and it's the quality and value of the food. This is quite simply the best eatery for miles around. This was our fourth trip but we've also been turned away as many times when as we didn't have a reservation. Sometimes they get a bit dismissive of you if you turn up without having booked and there's a reluctance to show flexibility e.g. squeeze in another sitting even through the people who have booked the table are maybe not due for another hour or two. On this visit they did concede to squeeze us on provided we could limit ourselves to one hour. I guess I'll just need to make sure I book in future. Food was superb as always. Had the Rob Roy chicken which is amazing value and my wife had the lamb shank. They pack you in tightly at the venue so it's probably night ideal if you want to engage in intimate conversation over a candlelit dinner but you can beat for good honest cooking at reasonable prices and an extensive menu. On street parking is limited and can be a problem so you might have to park some distance away and walk to the venue but you'll get a space somewhere, eventually!
