“Our stay at the Herring Queen”

An ideal location in Eyemouth, the Herring Queen ticked all boxes except the description did not lead us to expect so many stairs. Not at all suitable for the less mobile.

Many thanks for your review Ann. The listing does state that the Herring Queen is not suitable for less mobile or elderly guests. In addition I specifically emailed you to let you know that there was two flights of stairs to the bedrooms and you replied that you would manage fine. I am sorry that this was not the case and I hope it didn't affect your holiday too much.

“Herring Queen - Eyemouth”
Reviewed September 16, 2017 for a stay in September 2017

Really enjoyed our weeks stay here in Eyemouth.
Apartment is well equipped and comfortable.
It is situated on a working quay with fishing boats unloading just yards away,
so very interesting views from all rooms.
Eyemouth is a small fishing village with a busy Harbour and a sandy beach,
seals can be seen and fed everyday in the Harbour and there are pleasant walks
on the cliffs.
There are a few shops, small supermarket and plenty of places to eat.
Pubs, restaurants and ice cream Parlours.
Really good fresh fish n' chips, great ice cream and really good Chinese takeaway.
Eyemouth is handy for Berwick and the Tweed valley. Bamburgh and Edinburgh only
about an hour's drive away.

“WONDERFUL”
Reviewed April 18, 2017 for a stay in April 2017

We had a wonderful 3 days in Herring Queen Cottage in Eyemouth in AprIl 2017
The Cottage was beautifully equipped and the location was great, facing the Harbour. The Biscuits & Milk were very much appreciated on our arrival.

The pubs were not far and the Cafes were lovely too.

Thanks again for a Lovley Cottage.

“Great place to stay”

Herring Queen is a great place to stay ,everything you could ask for is in the apartment. We had a short stay For 4 nights (our second time ). It's only a short walk to the lovely beach and there is a very nice fish n chip shop which also has great ice cream!!
There are also seals in the water by the harbour which appear daily looking forward to getting tasty treats.

“Excellent Accomodation, Excellent Holiday”
Reviewed May 19, 2015 for a stay in May 2015

My wife and I stayed at the Herring Queen for a weekend break in May. We found it to be very comfortable and more than adequate for our requirements. It is in a great position within the village, very hand for shops, pubs, the beach and some fantastic walks. The fact that we had dry, sunny weather compared to much of the rest of the country added to our enjoyment.
We along with our dog were sorry when our break came to an end and it was time to return home.
The only minus point that we had was the fact that the internet was not working at all within the house but hey-ho we survived!
Would certainly recommend the 'Herring Queen' and Eyemouth
