Green Hope Guest House
Ranked #1 of 9 Duns B&B and Inns

Two of the most delightful people in the world run Green Hope! I went with a group of friends for the weekend and was quickly greeted by the hostess who made us most welcome.
The setting is delightfully remote and picturesque - right by the river with trees and fields around. There is plenty of seating outside to enjoy nature. For any star gazers its a treasure trove as the night sky teams with stars amongst the countryside's darkness.
You can have a room for B&B, or take part of the house with sitting room and kitchen for self catering. Everything you need is provided and the house is cosy and warm.
The food is delicious - home cooking at its best. You wont be disappointed.

Beautiful countryside. We spent there 4 nights in August. The roome are comfortable and very clean; really welcoming hosts. Breakfast is great and fresh. Everyday there was a milk for our daugthers. There are lots of very interesting places to explore nearby. Alison and Bill are wonderful.

We stayed for 2 nights as a family foursome of two couples "d'un certain âge". We were conveniently located to attend a wedding at Wedderburn castle. Although unable to explore the immediate surroundings we visited Seahouses, Eyemouth & St Abbs Head on arrival and departure and found there is lots to see. One Green Hope is certainly a hidden gem and might remain so if you do not plan accordingly. SatNav is the most practical tool but the postcode leaves you on the correct road but 900 metres short. GPS of 55.843518,-2.429574 delivers you to the door! Bill & Alison were extremely welcoming and ensured a carefree stay. We stayed in Robin & Chaffinch named rooms, next to each other on the 1st floor with a shared bathroom and with a wonderful view up-river. Lovely breakfast of fruit, juices, cereal, toast & "full English" (but Scottish really - would have renamed it if with Haggis or Black Pudding! LOL). Tea & coffee in each room & free Wifi (no mobile coverage locally). We'd stay again if revisiting the area. Thanks

If you put the images of American Werewolf in London, Skyfall and Deliverance out of your mind as you make your way you will find it worth the effort. The hosts were very welcoming and accommodated our early morning starts with a comprehensive breakfast. We were watching the Open at Muirfield and it was 40 mins travel time which was perhaps a little much but it did mean we didnt pay the premium we would have paid had we been anywhere closer. Didnt get time to explore the immediate area but very attractive location and a bird watchers paradise.

Stayed for 2 days while attending a wedding near by, the house is down the end of a long lane right beside a glorious river in a stunning location. Peaceful is probably the best word, this really is an escape from modern life and a chance to relax.
We stayed in the largest set of rooms with a separate living room, kitchen and bedroom with en suite. This has its own entrance door allowing us to come and go as we wished. There is a shared room in the main house for lounging and eating of the exceptional breakfast.
Bill and Alison could not have been more friendly or helpful, getting us sorted with taxis and answering any queries.
There is no mobile reception but a phone is provided for guests and there is free wifi to keep us connected.
Went for a couple of walks through the surrounding countryside and were lucky to see local wildlife including deer very close to the house.

Room Tip: We liked the River suite for its privacy and own entrances.

Lovely B&B in a very pretty location. Friendly and very helpful hosts. Great breakfasts and even a very welcome snack on the night of our arrival.

We only stayed two nights, and didn't get to spend too long in the B&B over those days, but we would have liked to have had more time to stay there. I'm not sure if we'll be back in the area any time soon, but I would certainly book here again if we were.

Quiet, relaxing place and beautiful green countryside. Alison and Bill are wonderful hosts offering us a hot drink when we arrived. The breakfast was good with plenty of choice of food. Because we were there for the JC Rally weekend they made breakfast early when we need it and they let us have the use of the kitchen when we were very late one night.
This is the second time I have stayed there in two years and I will be booking a stay again in 2014. Excellent place to stay 10 out of 10

Room Tip: The place is clean, quiet and very relaxing
