Hqving arrived day 2. On walking the WHW, We were driving wet, cold and hungry, before being allowed a key we had to fill out form and pa for room. That was after we had found there was no reception, you had to go to Paddys Bar, which was grimy and in bad taste, the room was disgusting , bets not made. Dirty bath, yuk yuk yuk, we had takeaway pizza from the garage which was lovely and the highlight of ou stay, breakfast, well the thin sliced white bread on offer was like cardboard and I checked the datevitcwas a month out of date, and had been frozen too long, glad to have left

Our stay here was terrible - as that's the only rating that comes near! The bedding was 'clean' but there were ink stains on the too-old duvet cover. There were airlocks in the plumbing so a huge 'hoot' every time you used any water. The wallpaper was peeling off, the shower decommissioned but still on the wall, many lights not working, the staff over-stretched, the decor unbelievably eccentric, to say the least. It should be advertised as a hostel, but it's missing the facilities that a hostel would offer - cooking facilities, camaraderie, a lounge or common room and there is only one spot where you get internet access... Truly, unbelievably awful!

Room Tip: If you value your time away from home, look further south or north - this would not rank as a holida...

Do not stay here. This is possibly the worst hotel in Scotland. The owners dont care about their guests and they do not clean the rooms. Our shower was covered in mould and the toilet was not clean. The single sheet on the bed had holes in it and the breakfast was disgusting. The pub next door (Paddy's) was equally dirty and poorly kept. It is not surprising that they make you pay in advance. Please take our advice and find somewhere else to stay.

Room Tip: Avoid completely.

As part of the West Highland Way we booked this hotel, as my husband had stayed here 3 years ago. We arrived and a globally challenged female with no personality whatsoever checked us in, asking for cash in advance. This should have set off the alarm bells. The room was disgusting. I don't think the decor has been updated since the 60's! There were holes in the walls, the curtains wetre hanging off the rail, the tv, didn't have a remote control and the carpet and bedspreads were stained. The bathroom was beyond belief...mould all over the tiles, yellow scum round the taps, the shower curtain was covered in mould and the shower was a mere drip! If we hadn't been walking and had a car, there is no way we'd have stayed here. Breakfast was a disaster, we basically made our own, with 2 loaves of bread and a toaster. At £66 for the night it was the worst accommodation by far I have ever had the misfortune to stay at.

Clean spacious room. Large bathroom with a bath (a rarity on the West Highland Way) and shower. Decor very tired but comfortable and warm. On the whole a bit shabby but OK for the price. Great fish and chips down the road at Real Food Cafe

Looked good from the website but was very much overpriced for what we got. Bed at least was clean and comfortable but decor from the 70s, room looked like it hadn't been refurbished in years and not very clean. Black mould in the bathroom. Very neglected and run down. Check in was in very noisy intimidating bar next door. Staff in general were not friendly and overwhelming sense that nobody cared about the place. Nobody even about to hand back the keys and check out. Never again.

Room Tip: Don't stay here

We have stayed previously so new that we were getting a cheap and cheerful break.

At £25 each it isn't that cheap mind . It's not as cheerful as it used to be either.
What we hadn't factored was no heating or hot water. We were provided electric heaters which were ok but the lack of hot water is not acceptable especially after long days walking
Even if there was hot water the shower was broke anyway

The place was never the most sparkling and has been in needi of a bit of an upgrade for some time but it Is now truly awful

The bar food to be fair was rather good as was the breakfast.
It is just such a depressing place.

Not sure if they want custom as we were the only people in with a group doing the WHW and having spent a fair bit on food and drink were told to drink up at 10.45 on a Monday night and refused any more drinks.

We won't be going back or in fact recommend to anyone else until they have spent some money on the place.
