“Ideal for WHW walkers”
Reviewed January 24, 2012

We stayed 2 nights on our walking on the West Highland Way. Campsite is well-placed, directly on the way. The ideal end stage WHW. We slept in a tent and use shelter with kitchen, which was part of the campsite. Shelter was relatively clean and sufficient for backpackers needs . Someone may interfere with the noise of a waterfall, which is close to. Me did not mind, it inspired me to walk. Facilities have been clean and regularly tidy.
Bar offers a selection of beers and meals, we were satisfied. Shop is part of the campsite too, but has limited opening hours. We were pleased to offer sortiment for travelers (socks, gaiters, raincoats, ...)

There are some very harsh words about this site on Trip Advisor. I can only relate my own experience. It was the best value for money, most welcoming place I stayed on the entire seven day walk. The tea and coffee facilities were better than a £100 hotel in Fort William, the bathroom freebies better than any other place I stayed. The breakfast was very good - better than most, and much better than the hotel where I stayed north of Balmaha. The room was first class. I cannot see what the complainers are complaining about.

Stayed 1 night in a wigwam to myself. Warm enough but mattress very uncomfortable. Lovely, homely bar with great value food. Good campsite shop. Lovely setting. Also has B+B and camping available.

This is my second time at Beinglas Farm, stayed in June whilst walking the WHW and was back yesterday walking from Rowardennan to the farm, staying over and walking back. Stayed in chalet both times and both times rooms were lovely. Can't understand why anyone would say the breakfast was horrible, there was 8 in our party and breakie was cooked to order and fabulous. Last time we ate in lounge and can honestly say food was fab. This time we wanted to try Drovers Inn and that was fab too. Staff were pleasant only gripe was that they wouldn't let us get our room until we paid even though we said we were waiting on others from our party arriving. Would recommend staying here either for walking or just for a visit. Also would have liked a drying room for boots

After a long day's walking the campsite was perfectly situated, right on the West Highland Way. We opted to stay in a wigwam to keep costs down. It was clean and warm - it wasn't a particularly cold night, but there was a small heater - and the sleeping bags were really warm. The food in the bar was good and came very quickly. Good, basic, cheap accommodation.

Stayed in a wigwam whilst doing the West Highland Way - the wigwams were fine but pretty cold, little heat and no power point. It was okay, but I'm not sure I'd go back. The woman who "greeted" us was so rude and abrupt. Why is she working in tourism?? It was just us, she barked at everybody who arrived when we were there, to our embarrassment to be honest.
The guy who ran the shop was a little more friendly, but honestly, what are they playing at to not at least be courteous to the paying guests?

The price for washing and drying was £5 which is vastly overpriced compared to similiar places. Found the food to be expensive, a shame when a reduction of £1 - £2 on courses would make all the difference.

Pros:
* clean comfortable room
* good food in the bar, both for meateaters and vegetarians
* service is not very attentive (they're quite busy) but friendly and efficient
* very attractive location when walking the West Highland Way
Cons:
* we had to pay £10 security for the key to our chalet
