“Brilliant holiday”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 26, 2013

My partner and I went on a five day holiday to the Royal Hotel through Highland Heritage, and had a brilliant time. We had no worries about our luggage because once it was put on the feeder coach at Liverpool we didn't see them again until we got to our room in the hotel, even when we crossed over from the feeder coach to the Highland Heritage coach. The same thing happened on the way back, where the luggage was picked up from the room and put on the coaches. The manager and staff at the hotel were really pleasant and nothing was too much for them. The meals were really tasty and filling (three courses both at breakfast and dinner), which was a real surprise to me given the great value of the holiday package. Our room was lovely with bathrobes, fruit, tea coffee facilities, a hairdryer and even a sewing kit included. The coach tours were fantastic with a commentary from the coach drivers who told us all about the clans of the Highlands. Even the rain didn't dampen everyone's spirits. The bar was very reasonable. The entertainment was hit and miss, from really good to so so, however there is another Heritage hotel near by so you could go and check out the entertainment there.
The holiday is a bit regimentated, however it has to be like this so the coaches can leave on time for people to get the most of their time on the tours. If you go with the flow you should have no problem.
I would gladly recommend this hotel and Highland Heritage tours to anyone.

well another trip to Scotland and the best yet. We went by Highland Herritage and had a supper time, it started by a warm welcome on the coach by the hotel manager who was warm and friendly along with his staff and lasted all week. The food was great too. The hotel and general trip did have some issues but to be honest, and you know i am alays honest the good points outstripped these so i will give them a miss if you will allow me to. Please give it a try and if the sun shines you will have a better time than we had in the rain !! The Owner is a caring one and it shows in the standard. Oh! and the views around the area are stunning and only a goog poet could give the justice.. We have been bach two days and still in awe of the break....

Room Tip: We were in room 106 which was an annex, lovely views and very close to the main lounge but the walls...

We had a brilliant 5 day trip with Highland Heritage, apart from the first night. Our suitcase got sent back to Cannock! Unfortunately it contained my husband's very necessary medication so we were not best pleased. The Hotel Manager, Alex, managed to get it returned by 4a.m. the next morning (We were so relievedl!) and the rest of the Holiday went very well. We met some lovely people and had some fantastic days out.

Room Tip: Ask for one with a bigger bathroom if possible. Our's was very tiny.

Hotel very regimented, they try to get you out of the dining room very quickly.Hardly finished the first course and the next one follows immediately,no chance to relax over your meal.Bedrooms classed as Premium but are too small for this classification.Bathroom like a walk in wardrobe doors opening into the room very close to one of the single beds.No phones in the bedrooms, and the hotel has nobody on reception during the night.

We have just retiurned from a 5 day break with Highland Heritage and found the coach travel excelelnt, plenty of stops, when we arrived at the hotel, the staff met us and everything ran smoothly in getting us to our rooms, The rooms were clean and most suitable, the food was excellent and the staff very polite and helpful. Entertainment was good except for one night but didn't put us off. The trips were interesting and very well organised. Would definitely go again.

We have just returned from our first holiday with Highland Heritage and we were very impressed (all 10 of us). The hotel is in a beautiful spot, the views from our room were lovely. The food was excellent, with lots of choice. All the staff were polite, cheerful and very helpful. We really enjoyed the trips and our coach drivers John and Phil were very knowledgable and really amusing.
The entertainment could be improved, it was disappointing. We have been on several coach holidays and we all agreed that Highland Heritage is the best.

Not my cup of tea but very pleasent staff. Rooms were clean. Our driver Tam made the holiday with his wit and knowledge. If you want a very cheap coach trip to this beautiful part of Scotland then book with Highland Heritage. They are very organised but for me it was far to regimented.

Room Tip: we stayed in a ground floor room and were not disturbed. No view from our room and slight smell of d...
