Just returned from Ben Doran 22 - 27 June and whilst I agree with other reviews that the staff, tours and hotel where very good I must disagree with them over the food, I am sure that the normal menu was very adequate but the vegetarian option was pretty much non existent, you got what you were given at the evening meal with no prior knowledge and the food served up was no more than frozen mixed vegetables in some sort of sauce with the exception of a vegetable fritter (frozen mixed veg in breadcrumbs) the 5 course highland evening for veggies was reduced to 3 as the starter was haggis and neeps and the dessert was trifle (jelly has gelatin in it). Breakfast on two occasions was vegetable sausage with egg and tomato and on another day it just had the meat omitted so was egg and mushroom, I decided to stick to porridge and toast on the two remaining days. Seems to be a case of vegetarianism is your choice so take it or leave it. Will not be using this company again and if you are vegetarian and considering it, don't bother.
