From the outside this tea room looks quintessentially Scottish with its Tunnock's advert. Inside, it's the Scottish hospitality of 20 years ago. Baked potato hard, macaroni a little odd, few diet drinks.

The tearoom seemed popular with the locals though. Those of us passing through have two other choices in the village, one of which we will try next time.

Having been driving for over an hour the tea room sign was a welcome sight. We were looking forward to a hot cup of tea and a warm welcome. The tea was hot the welcome not so warm. I wouldn't say it was cold but considering we were tourists not overly friendly. Cream tea sadly worst we have ever had - and we have had a few. Scone was home made but more like some cake than a scone. Only one - two would have been nice. Just enough cream and the jam was a processed carton one. I ordered jacket potato and salad Jacket potato normal microwave job. The "salad" three slices of cucumber, two slices of tomato and a slice of onion. I gazed longingly at some home made soup on the next table. It really wasn't that bad but it wasn't that great either. When we are passing next time we probably wouldn't stop.

Always stop in at this friendly cafe for a very tasty breakfast when passing going towards Campbeltown. Have not as yet stopped on the way back , so can not comment on lunch.

Recommend this Tea Room to everyone. It is simply the best place you will get for a hot and mouth-watering breakfast, tea and coffee. Besides, the place is cosy and people so friendly and welcoming. Excellent marks.

Once again Maisie and her team come up trumps with their craic, crackin food and cosy surroundings. Our hillwalking club have been dropping off at this fab' establishment for a wee while now, and I/we thought it was about time I/we let you know how good this wee place is. We 'experience' a wide selection of such establishments on our weekly outings throughout Scotlandshire, and Maisie beats them all , no danger.
There can be ten of us dropping in on a Sunday morning before we 'attack' the hills, and before you know it, we are served fantastic 'breakfast rolls', toast, scones, coffee and tea accompanied with smiles, craic, pleases and thankyous.
Yes, and your tea and coffee IS served in china cups.
This place is a credit to good old fashioned Scottish hospitality, and we take our collective hats off to you Maisie and your team. THANK YOU :o)
